  1. I hope you're right Daniel. Stevenage was a good lesson and, hopefully, both Liam and the players will have realised exactly what the team will be up against this season. We need to keep expectations to a sensible level and realise that our being 2 to 3 weeks behind the rest with pre season might mean an iffy start. No panic if results do go the wrong way. We'll catch up but it could the 3rd week August before we have. COYR!

  2. Doing my bit. As per usual I have my RamsTV subscription at £17.50 a month. Having seen one fan pump around £50M into saving the club, the least I can do is put some money in to help the club so, for the first time since I emigrated almost 40 years ago, I am buying a season ticket. I can afford to get over for between 6 and 8 away games and that will cost me between 3 and 4 grand in flights, hotels etc. C'mon Ewe Rams.

Back on topic, since we passed the 10K STs sold, there have been no further updates. Are we stuck at around that number? It wouldn't surprise me to learn that the figures aren't rising because, taking inflation and the cost of living into account, many can't buy until the Direct Debit facilities are in place.

  3. Disappointing result and performance. Some players, according to Liam, not following instructions and that he wants more speed and urgency going forward and less of going backwards all the time. Many fans will be pleased to hear that.

Hopefully, this result and the reasons for it will creep into the brains of the handful of idiots winding up other fans with their nonsensical claims of us "walking the league". The way Stevenage played and executed very well, is how a lot of L1 sides play. In your face defending. No time on the ball. Physical. It's a playing style we've mainly struggled against in the 61 years since I first watched the Rams. The team need to get that into their heads round that and prepare for a long, hard physical season against opponents, most of whom utilise a direct style of play. We can do well this season but we will have to adapt to L1 physicality very quickly.

  4. Daniel lad, don't let this worry you. You posted innocently and with no malice aforethought. That should be the over-riding consideration here.

Don't let them grind you down. Keep on being you. There's nowt wrong with that. A few weeks down the road you'll know who's who and won't be struggling to describe a player. If there is a new one you could always check the team sheet if you're not sure of a name. The new player will be the one whose name you are unfamiliar with. Your enthusiasm has always been infectious. Keep on keepin' on. UTR!

  5. The only figures we actually KNOW are the number of seats currently unavailable.

How many ST's sold so far? We don't know. All we know is that 10300+ sold in the first 2 days they were on sale. How many more were sold on Sat/Sun/Mon/Tue? They haven't said.

One thing I do know is that I will be buying a season ticket. My first in 40 years since emigrating. I still live abroad and might make between 6 and 8 games as per usual but there comes a time to stand up and do what you can for  the club. I already pay £17.50 a month for RamsTV. I can afford a season ticket so will buy one. Bloody airlines are forcing plane tickets sky high but I'll just have to grin and bear it. 1 game a month at around 500 a throw all in. DTID.

  6. IMO, if we are somehow despised by opposing fans next season, it won't be down to punishment or any perceived lack of it. It will be down to those fans on various fora and general social media who are looking at us getting masses of players in and spending lots of money and walking the League and that attitude is total arrogance. That scenario won't happen. We are limited to 21 players, excluding Under 20s, in the squad. We currently have SEVEN players. There is a squad salary cap of £2.5M a year in place. To put that into perspective Lawro is currently on about £1.4M. We will be allowed to pay players an average of £119K a year. Just like every other club in L1.

We need to temper our predictions, at least until we know what the squad looks like.

  7. It'll all depend on what the likes of Palace MU Spurs Newcastle are prepared to offer him. If it's a few times more than what we are allowed to offer in L1 he'll be off. Wise move for him is to think about what WR has already done for him and can do for him going forward. He should stay and develop in first team football rather than go to Spurs or wherever and end up in their U21's.

    Ammy, me owd madman,

I'm not sure I was questioning anything.  Merely explaining, as the odd post suggested there was a little confusion.  ?

    PS:
I notice your finishing emoji thing only has one pint.  I got two... one each!  ?

We really must have a beer on one of my trips back next season ??

I'm of the understanding that they are the other clubs matchday attendance for their match against us, not specifically our own away following for each match.
I'd imagine most fans would be more eager to go to watch their team play against Wayne Rooney's Derby County than Curly Sue's Boro, for example.

It wouldn't surprise me if Fo*est, for example, have had a bigger away following than us, but then the oppo fans (in the home stands) would be less keen to be in close proximity to our 6 fingered friends, thus saving their ticket money for another day.

Mucker, me owd mucker, why question any stat that puts us top? ?

  11. Let's not get ahead of ourselves..... let's first make sure we HAVE a 22/23 season. Nothing abroad, obviously, due to the financial situation. Start off with non League, L2, SBC and close with a PL team. That or Rangers again. They'd bring thousands.

  12. - Grandad’s Team one was Derby, the other died long before I was born so I don't know
    - Dad’s Team Derby
    - Mum’s Team Derby

    - Everyone at your school's Team Derby Chelsea MU MC Liverpool Everton WBA Spurs Wolves Leicester....... etc

    - Your local Team now My team is still derby but my closest professional team is Ajax

    - Your kids Team(s) both born 15 miles from the Johan Cruijff ArenA so, obviously, they support Derby.

  13. So much rumour going around. MM's sold the ground to MA. CK has the deal sorted. the MM/Gibbo spat that saw Boro hold up proceedings originated away from football. DET, Derbyshire Live, Athletic, FLW and other (non) news clickbait sites put tons of stuff out everyday. 90% is rehashes of 3 week old "news", some is guesswork and 1% might actually be news. Click = advertising revenue. Time to stop feeding the goat......

    #poorlayout

Nothing new there Mucker, how are you keeping? I'll be in the Brunny pre and post cardiff as well as at Blackandwhitepool next weekend.

  15. Awkward one to predict. What starting XI is WR going to pick? No Loz, that we know but Rav can take that role on. Tommo has done well replacing the suspended Bird, will he keep his place? Bielik has been off form, will he be on the bench and Max starting? WR has said the fringe players will get time. I take that as being McDonald and Watson to get playing time. Stears deserves game time IMO but  ot at the ecpense of Curt who is on for every minute of every game for the first time in his career. Cashin has done nothing to warrant dropping. Roos will get a game at some point IMO. Other young uns will get 20 minute cameos in one of the games. He'll probably start with the best available XI and give some young uns cameos.

There's also the issue of "former player syndrome". Will Martin and/or Weimann score?

    I'm going 2-1 Derby.
