  1. Having thought about it and having disengaged my "softie" side, here's my take on those currently out of contract. There will be disagreements but in the hardball world of Association Football there is no room for sentiment. Not if you want success...

    The players concerned are:

    Bird (already gone)
    Sibley who I'd keep
    Wildsmith who I'd keep
JJ back on pay as you play or not at all. Probably the latter.
Barks Thanks for everything but it's time to go
Adams hopefully reach a deal with Cardiff but not at any price
    Tommo keep
Gayle looked class in L1 but had a huge failure at Stoke prior to coming to us. Too old? I think so
Hourihane Full time coach at Villa or an extra season here? I'd let him unless the option rumours are true
    Collo Hard working goalscoring L1 CF 16/17 22 in L2, 17/18 20 in L2, 18/19 25 in L1, 19/20 and 20/21 14 and 13 in the SBC, 21/22 3 in the SBC from 30 appearances. 22/23 12 in L1, 23/24 199 in L1. Is L1 his level? I think he is. Thanks and good luck.
Smith been a good servant but PW wants more 20 somethings (applies to Collo as well)
Fozzy LWB/LB/CH competent in all 3 but his age is against him. 3 ACLs plus the time it took him to get over his injury this season and then broke down again on his return. You're a rock but it's time to go
Waggy Ta lad. This really is the end of the line
Robinson talks under way and I'd definitely keep him as he has a bright future
Loach does some coaching as well. Apparently on less than a grand a week. If still capable if/when needed then as 3rd keeper, I'd be happy enough.

    So..

    Keep Sibs, JW, Tommo, Robinson

Also keep JJ and Loach but only if the circumstances are correct (pay as you play JJ and still capable if needed Loach). IMO more chance of the latter happening than the former

Buy Adams but not at any price

The rest can go unless there are any option triggers the players can pull.

  2. Why haven't we published the list yet?

    1. PW said a few months back that no new contracts would be offered until after the season.

    2. Following the last game the lads had a couple of days on the razz and then went to Vegas for more razzing. Now they are back PW can inform, face to face, those who are to be let go and start negotiations with the agents of players he wants to keep.

Is it really any surprise we haven't published the list yet?

I'm not sure if it's the same in Germany because they want to try to get people to subscribe to Sky Deutschland.

I read somewhere in an article or post from Owen Bradley that RamsTV availability abroad will be the same this coming season as it was last. What happens after that is uncertain. However, I don't see Sky Deutschland broadcasting SBC, L1 or L2 matches.

I sincerely hope it stays the same going forward for my good friend in Kamen.

I live in Germany and depend on RamsTV for my coverage, because I can only get to Pride Park twice a year if I am lucky. When we were last in the Championship, I used to watch the relatively few live Sky games that RamsTV weren't allowed to stream in Europe on Eurosport on a pay-per-view basis, with a pretty dire commentary in German. With half the games being affected in the coming season, I don't fancy having to subscribe to both RamsTV and Eurosport, and definitely not Sky, and I don't want to start visiting dodgy sites again.

Does anyone have any information regarding RamsTV streaming in Europe under the new arrangements?

I live in Holland and pay my £19.99 a month to RamsTV. Got all 46 games in the 2 L1 seasons. From what I've read, I'll get all 46 Championship games this season too.

Does anyone know when it’s being announced?

I don't know but the list has to be announced by the 3rd Saturday in May as Caerphilly said.

IMO, nobody would have been told they were out of the club prior to the Vegas trip, PWs not that type of guy. He will speak to the players this week, now they are back and I expect the list to be out sometime in the week.

I did hear a couple of weeks back that he turned down our offer and wanted more money and is looking elsewhere which is his choice. He helped us and we helped him.

I've read/heard of 27 different players we're buying this summer. 2 of those arriving would be a miracle. Where did you hear it? Who from? A reputable, reliable source or did you overhear someone saying they'd seen something on FB or X?

The whole point being there's a lot of crap being written by folk wanting clicks to gain advertising revenue from their FB pages, YouTube channels and websites. We don't yet know who's staying and who's going. We're not the only club that hasn't yet published their retained list. Unless a club has said something, there's no traction in any of these rumours.

Think that got rumour got debunked.

Yet folk, all over social media, keep repeating it. Might be me but I've never seen a debunk of it, probably because it's only ever been a FB/X etc rumour that I've never taken seriously.

Latest 'Not the top 20' Pod seem to think it's going to be one Friday night game, most likely championship as it is now. Five games moved to Saturday lunchtime and then other games on Sunday lunchtime. No mention of Saturday teatime games or Thursdays but there will still be the normal amount of games midweek.

All TV games picked from start of the season to start of FA Cup 3rd round fixtures, then next set of fixtures from Jan till April. At least fans supposed to be able to plan in advance

Do you have more specific information than that? For instance, the opening weekend is August 10th. How many weeks before that will the games up to the end of the year (3rd round FA Cup is always first weekend of the new year) be announced. As far as seeing the games is concerned, I will see them all here in Amsterdam via my #RamsTV subscription. I come over for around 8 home games a season and like to plan well ahead in order to get the cheapest flights/hotel rooms. First and last home games of the season are usually ones I target. The rest are dependent on the opposition, games moved for TV (which looks like not a problem this coming season) and international weekends.

    Thanks in advance... Amster.

Correct, but they'd show on the retained list under a section for extensions. But my point is, if Warne had a blank slate, I'd imagine there might be some he would not have chosen.

    Agreed.

  10. 11 minutes ago, Srg said:

Retained list will include "contracts offered" so doesn't need to be signed to come out. I would also imagine discussions will have taken place over the last couple of months.

I don't think the released list would be ideal for Warne either. There's going to be players who have triggered extension who he likely wouldn't ideally want to keep for a Championship team.

If an extension is triggered, surely, those players are retained unless we pay them off or can sell them or get a loan deal. Until such a deal is struck they remain retained, don't they?

Wouldn’t be surprised to get the retained list today

The released list is an easy one to put together for PW. You've done a grand job but we, as a club, need to move on and I don't see you as part of that move.. thanks and goodbye and remember, I will text you to the ends of the earth.

Retained list? Different kettle of fish, IMO. Tell player X you want to keep him. Make appointment with his agent. Come to an agreement on wages OR fail to. Get contract signed or not. Will that happen so quickly? It could be that the negotiations have already taken place and the contract is there, rubber stamped, just needing a signature... but that may have been a dangerous game to play. Player Y gets told, we stay in L1 we'll offer you so much a week. However, if we go up, you're on the way out. Does that demoralise the player or motivate him to either persuade PW he was wrong OR to convince other clubs he's worth a punt?

My guess is the retained list will be out towards the end of next week. Having said that, I lose more bets than I win 😉

  12. Some howlers like the penalty Sav won for Leicester and the double clanger from Tw@twell on those 2 Miles Addison disallowed goals against the Red Dogs but for sheer consistency in a single game, I have to go for at Bolton om September 2nd, 2023.

    In no particular order...

    1. He turned down a nailed on penalty

    2. He disallowed a perfectly good goal... to give us a penalty, from which we scored. To be somewhat fair to the lad, he did blow before the ball crossed the line but he was way too quick to give the decision. There was something like 2 seconds between the foul and the goal. Why didn't he wait to see if there was any advantage first?

    3. He turned down another nailed on penalty

    4. He sent Wildsmith off for handling the ball outside the area. The ball hit him in the chest, Red card rescinded on appeal

    5. He gave Bolton a penalty for a foul by Korey Smith. Now, it was a foul, no doubt about that, however, it was outside the box
