  1. I was a manager with some success during most of my working life

I learned early that the way to the objective was team work, any or all part of that team was heralded at some point, each person playing their part, large or small, but all of it orchestrated by the manager.

The eventual goal being reached by the group, was the indicator of a good manager, so I will say we have a good manager.

We have much further to go to reach the promised land of milk and honey, and I would expect that most would give a grudging acceptance that Mr Warne should have the opportunity to take us to the next level.

He may choose not to accept the challenges ahead and decide to step down.

He may feel the challenge too much, and decide that he can maintain his kudos at a lower level and should that be the case, I would heartily thank him for his hard work in getting us out of the millpond of Division 1.

I personally think he will have much still to offer in a higher setting, and should he decide that the timing is right and wishes to uptake the stark challenges ahead, I for one would whole heartedly support that initiative.

I like his whole club mentality and generally as a person he comes over as genuine,  and that will always be a key issue for this old fan, he cares.

So to close, Mr Warne because of you leadership and moral code, I will accept your decision either way, but if you stay you will definitely have the support of this old RAM.

A confident and comfortable performance yesterday.  The only thing missing was a goal from open play but that doesn’t worry me.  Both yesterday and at Wycombe, particularly 1st half, we created some really good ones.  The defence never looked in trouble and I thought we controlled midfield.  Smith had a really good game, he was comfortable on the ball and always available to receive it.  Collins looked more like himself and put his usual shift in.  Kane’s goal was right in front of me, definitely his.

I might be in a minority but I don’t mind Bradley.  Personally, I think he plays better when he’s captain, he seems to thrive on the responsibility.  Yes, he made some mistakes early on but Warne acted on it.  Pleased he got his goals and hope that gives him a lift for the last 2 games.

Loved the score line yesterday but still have concerns regarding scoring from open play as well.

I get this is L1 but a quality finisher would have had a couple for sure when is Gayle back?

It's worth pointing out that Derby's two Wetherspoons, the Babbington and the Standing Order, are two of the best around and serve both Real Ale and the other stuff. They also open early for the classic Spoons breakfast, for which many regulars dress appropriately.

I can recommend the fish and chips in both establishments, along with Doombar at less than  £2 a pint

  4. After past criticisms I felt it incumbent on myself to praise the glaringly obvious work done by the backroom and indeed the manager.

They had clearly decided to play in a way that cut off the passing through of their CB's and the boys grafted tirelessly to make it work.

The pivotal part of the game for us IMHO ,was that we had the ability to get in the crosses and from any deadball we piled on it.

Nelson went close from this and there were several occasions from corners which made me wonder where their CB's had gone.

Never seen so much panic, clearly the training ground has been utilised to the max this week.

So well done PW and the back room team and super well done to the squad, it has been many years since I felt so tense/excited at the game and seeing the West stand throw away  their zimmers made my heart gladden

Went to Derby Playhouse last night for the comedy store, this guy was superb (think Harry Hill with smaller collars and a guitar)

Not just a play to the crowd job, was very off the wall, wet myself laughing at the Sting send up "massage in a brothel"

Well worth the trip at around £20 a seat

In fact the comedy store, which plays every month or two is well worth the money.

Some great emerging talent and some great established (not mainstream)comedy acts

  6. Soooo many variables .......

Under pressure even the best will falter.

Teams fighting relegation could be a big factor

    Rivalries (local\time honoured etc)

The capricious nature of lady luck

    Injuries

    Suspensions

PLUS  and finally since when did Derby county ever do anything the easy way?

All that said its far better to have  a nail biting finish than mid table apathy

the way of playing doesn't help either, lots of sprinting, chasing the ball, lack of control and therefore hard to conserve energy

NML chasing down got us the corner that we scored from

Absolutely. Some people have talked about yesterday’s defeat as a missed opportunity (because Pompey only drew and Bolton lost but they’re probably thinking the same with us losing) but it was always going to be tough. Not making our home games count would be a missed opportunity. Bolton is obviously the toughest one but we need to be winning the other three (comfortably would be nice, in order to build confidence and protect our goal difference advantage) and at least not losing to Bolton. If you add into the mix winnable games away at Northampton and Bristol Rovers then we have a great chance to set ourselves up nicely for the run in. Just don’t mess it up Derby.

    R u a real Derby fan?

Never heard of the Derby Way?
