He was one of our most improved players last season but you always get the feeling with Christie that he is 1 mistake away from making him lose his confidence just like in the 14/15 season. Even last season Baird played at the start of last season at right back and Hanson played at right back when Christie lost confidence again so it's not just poor game as you state. Putting things into context, Belarus are equivalent to a mid table league 1 side. You also say that Christie wouldn't be happy being rotated, so what? I'm sure Forsyth and Olsson wont be happy being rotated either. Having competition is good otherwise certain players will get complacent as they know their position is safe. I'd argue that having competition will make Christie a better player.

Doubt many mid table league 1 sides have a player of the quality of Hleb in their side.

Also McGeady left Christie out to dry with his lack of help defensively. Harsh to judge a player on 1 game. Christie has had a solid enough season.

Hanson should be the competition for Christie and we saw have well it worked when Wassall dropped Christie for him and when he came back he played even better. We don't need to spend money on positions that barely need strengthening and we already have back-up for Christie anyway.

No thanks

Take a guy who's 20 and seems to be heading towards being a very decent CM... And force him to play RB at a key stage of his development... Daft mate...

Just because a player has shown some competency over a couple of games doesn't mean they should be played there long term... By setting up like that it means for at least part of the season Hanson will have to train/learn like he's a RB... which won't help his development at a CM...

That is why I said he would be backup? He only played RB two times this season and did his job well, it also meant that Christie upped his game. Would rather just do that than fork out money on a RB which wont play too many games.

Have you ever tried to book a room with an airship?

No, but I've nipped down a back alley with one or two.

You said he'd be competition for Christie... Which is a bad idea... Since we have the money why not pick up a specialist RB anyway...

I'd worry that over the 2 weeks Hanson was playing RB he would have trained as a RB... At his age any time spent training in a different position can't be good for his development... If he was the 'official' backup for Christie he'd spend even more time training in that position...

looks like we are signing Nampalys Mendy, so James will probably be available permanently or on loan.

real shame as he has so much potential, but he will be great for you.

Not necessarily. More likely a replacement for Kante and/or Inler. Hope you lot keep your main players Vardy, Kante and Mahrez but unfortunately I can't see it.

Would be bad for Football if the top three players at Leicester are gobbled up by the money clubs. £120,000 a week is a big temptation from Arsenal so Leicester will be tempted to tip £100,000 a week for Vardy and eventually risk going bust in a few years at a far bigger level than clubs used to do so. More boom now means more drastic crashes for some clubs in future.Similar problem with Koeman at Southampton going to Everton. Burnley have £60 million to spend on players. They are all playing poker for bigger chips which may need to be paid back at some point.
