I think Clough got the best out of Commons by basically bullying him, no question that when he was playing well for us he was stand out and would get into our current team and theirs - when he played for Forest he was often regarded as talented but no end product which is what they are probably basing the not good enough comments on - of course I am assuming in this that the Forest fans are objective and logical, it could just be they are having a hissy fit saying he is crap because he left them to come here....

It's an interesting debate the Commons thing - I'd say on average he'd have 2/5 great games for us, with the other 3 being very frustrating.

From what I saw of him for Derby he looked to have harnessed that talent on a more consistent basis.

I'd honestly sooner have Reid in the side than Commons though, Reid's overall contribution to the side in terms of quality, clinical-decisions & actions, defensive assistance and leadership is far greater than what Common's offered us.

I'd expect us to beat them, certainly. 6 points, I'd expect us to take 4 points from the next two games aswell against Burnley and your lot.

Bristol City, what a start for them. I think they'll be the surprise package this season. Forgot about Bolton, I'll give Forest credit for coming away with a point there. T'was a great game of football with some decent goals, lucky to get back into it in the end.

Anyway, have a look at how easy your season has started [url=http://www.sportingintelligence.com/2012/08/16/liverpool-and-saints-face-hardest-starts-as-swans-and-hammers-ease-in-160801/]http://www.sportingi...ease-in-160801/

That last line just screams desperation, kid yourself but don't think you can kid us - you only have to think where Southampton were placed on that list last year to realize what a load of tripe it is.

Let me run through how the games have gone......

Fleetwood Away - Win - steady game, mostly dominated, essentially a pre-season game for us

Bristol C Home - Win - Dominated the game, lacked a cutting edge up front playing with only 1 striker for 80 odd minutes. Clean sheet against a side which scored 8 in the next 2 games.

Huddersfield Away - Draw - Ridiculous amount of domination against a team who's keeper had a blinder, and who were gifted a 95th minute penalty. Kept an £8m striker totally quite in open play all game.

Bolton Away - Draw - Top 6 side who we dominated for 40 min, but who were allowed to edge their way back into the game. They put us on the back-foot considerably for the 2nd half and showed that some of our defenders are frail against Premiership quality supply and forwards - of which about 5 teams in this division have. As your result & performance against them the same week showed, a draw there's a good result which I'm sure you'd have taken.

Wigan Home - Loss - Put to the sword by a very clinical Wigan side having fielded a 2nd string batch of players (Moussi, McGoldrick, Malony, Cohen) and with 3 of those players having barely played this past year. They were a class above, which is why they are in the division above.

Charlton - Win - More domination and another win, last 20 minutes we looked a bit didgy due to a few subs introduced and the goal we conceded was soft, but overall we were far the better team and made that count results wise.

Out of those 6 games I'd say only 1 could be classed as an "easy" game - 2 of them are against Prem quality opposition FFS, and the "average" sides in there are all sporting good form - there's only Huddersfield I'd look at and think falls into the "easier" category, but no game away from home can be classed as easy.

I'm not arguing that our record has anything to do with us beating you in a few weeks, but I am saying don't discredit your own fanbase by putting arguments forward which reak of delusion - even they are all thinking "BlackNWhites is talking b*llocks"

All that matters is on the day and at the end of the season, really looking forward to the game and expecting a 3-2 win for Forest - will be tight though.

You should thrash us then.

You play the best football

Have better strikers

Have better midfield

Concede less goals.

What are your predictions lads? Let's just get 'em in print. 3-0? 75% possession? Cox x2 and Sharp?

Nah, it'll be a tight game - fancy us to win it 3-2 but it is one of those games that could have any scoreline.

My previous post was just trying to highlight how totally daft the suggestion was that Forest's 1st 6 games were all easy games.

You see we aint all that yet, but we aint all that because we've a soft underbelly and the team is still gelling - in the last 10-20 min of most games we should have comfortably won we've let sides back into it, plus we should have scored more when we've had the chances to. They are the real reason's we're not the league's best team yet, not some of the false one's which I've seen posted so far.

So, against some of the leagues teams I'd (and probably other folks) expect to finish in the bottom half of the table, you're struggling to see games out against those teams.

For saying my post was 'desperation' provoked a lengthy post from you I'm not sure where this desperation begins but I know it isn't with me.

There's 410 pages with plenty of Forest supporting posters for you to read in here, give it a crack, that should help you in the understanding of desperation.

Yeah, that's probably a good way of summing it up. But we are seeing most of those games out, similar to how people said Man City struggled to hang on to the Premiership lead last year.

And I'd just a bit of free time so thought it'd be worth giving a full overview of things as you were a fair bit off the mark with your original post.

So you have come on to a Derby forum about al-notts rovers and expected a "they look really good so far this year, won some difficult games" 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' /> 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

I don't think I'm far off the mark myself. I'll allow for a slight rise or dip in form though since you're a relatively new squad. Depends on wether you can keep your form up, which looking at your next few fixtures works in your favour. After that though it really kicks into gear.

We'll see, looks good now but I'm not convinced.

Nah, I'm expecting that type of comment after we beat you lol.

Actually, I pretty much agree with that.

And that is exactly the attitude I hope your players and manager has, just like Watford and Zola with the same result!! 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

There is no such thing as an easy game in this division, nor is there a hard game.. We'll beat a better team than Watford at PP this season and we'll also lose to a worse team than Watford at PP this season.. (if you judge how good a team is by league position)

Forest will also lose to some teams at the bottom at home this season.. And they'll also beat a top team away from home, just like we will..

Both teams problems this season could be drawing games.. Draws are so overrated in this league, that a point does nothing to help.. You only go places in this league by stringing 3 or 4 wins on the trot, anything else and you're an inconsistant midtable side.
