Ben Davies has twice the assists of Ward, despite popular opinion if we started the season without Davies, we'd know be in a worst position than if we started the season without Ward.

Ward is quite clearly the better player, but as it stands Davies has created twice the goals and is only a goal behind him.

I don't think it'd be as big of a miss as everyone makes out, he hasn't really affected our season that much, looks more of a threat more than anything else.

Really, given the form Davies is in, I would say that we would be higher had he not played, as rather than doubling up on ward as he is our only threat, they would have to worry about the other wing.

As for the assists, how do you know that with someone else taking every corner and throw in that they would not have the same or even better, I can remember when Gary teale was playing, people kept referring about his assists, he was dog poo to.

Well Davies has the 2nd most assists in the league, and is on target to become our most creative player (on paper) in 10 years+ so I guess, not EVERY player who takes corners and throw ins would get as many.

I like Ward a lot but like our other midfielders they need to start producing more, flash runs and near misses don't mean anything at the end of the game when you've lost 1-0, which has been the case on more than one occasion this season.

For me Davies and Ward should both be setting their sights on scoring/creating 20 goals a piece, with half of the season gone (nearly) Davies has been involved in 9 goals and Ward in 5 so Davies is nearly on target and Ward needs to step up. I know you can't manage a football team by looking at the stats, but at the end of the day stats are the only thing that matters for the club.

In respect of Ward why would he move when he has already stated that he is happy at Derby and the happiest he has ever been in respect of playing football. (By the way this article of Wards came out just after the rumours started that clubs were after him). He could have gone to Hull for more wages as reported at the time but chose us.

Further to this in respect of the board selling him I don't think this will happen either. They sold Hulse and Commons in last 6 months of contract and were high wage earners, to keep them would have required a pay cut affectively. They will sell Bywater, Pearson and Leacock (fingers crossed) in January to release wage pressure and they will not get in the squad. We however have not sold Brayford although West Ham and Stoke reportedly keen in signing him, instead extended his contract basically saying hands off. Green will be the one that is sold as he has already stated that he is looking for a move. To be honest I would like him to stop but that is my opinion.

I am with Boycie he will not be leaving.

I must have missed where West Ham and Stoke actually made a bid, if an offer comes in, that is over 1M he will be off, just as Brayford will be, lets take the blinkers off, we are now run as a business not a football club and money talks with these guys.

I agree with you Boycie in respect of ******** this summer. However they have a chance to redeem themselves in January if they do off load Bywater and Pearson and possibly Green. They have no reasons not to reinvest the money and get Clough the two players he is after.

However after watching how young Callum is developing a striker is second to a midfield 'general' and a left back ready for next season.
