Comrade 86
31Vickers - 7.0 - Really good shift from Josh. I'd still prefer Joe as first choice, but perhaps these games will benefit us and keep Joe keen. 2Wilson - 7.0 - Played well again I thought. He's far better defensively than often assumed. 35Nelson - 7.5 The pick at the back, where he looked back in prime form. He's such a solid signing. 6Cashin - 6.0 - Is he carrying a niggle? He looked to be struggling almost from the outset. Entitled to a bad game though, given his imperious form this season and that goal line clearance earned him a probably generous 6.0. 20Elder - 7.0 - Is he settling down? Again looked rusty early, but he looked a lot better later in the game and I think the minutes will serve him well. 7Barkhuizen - 6.5 - Difficult season for Tom, but he's shown that a return to his best in imminent in recent games. Industrious again today. 16Thompson - 6.5 - An unselfish grafter, Liam must be close to full fitness now. Could he start in MF to provide us with much needed legs? 8Bird - 7.0 - Thought Max was decent today, but in a midfield 2 against a pacy attack, it's difficult to shine. 4Hourihane - 6.0 - Leggy and off it today after showing better consistency in recent weeks. Hopefully just a blip, but midfield remains a query for me. 11Méndez-Laing - 6.5 - Willing as always but not at his best today. CBT to provide cover and / or additional attacking threat is a big deal, as teams seem to be doubling up on Nate. 17Sibley - 6.0 - Didn't really notice him that much during the game and it's becoming frustrating that we can't get the best, or even close to it, out of the lad. I had high hopes for him this season, but I don't see him getting enough games where he wants to play to prosper. 19John-Jules - 7.0 - Added something, but not enough. I still think there's plenty in the locker though. 9Collins - 6.0 - A rare off day, he worked hard as always, but was ineffective. I suspect he'll be getting minus scores from one 'supporter' on here. WarneWatch - Feel for him a little as he's just got the team playing and now absences and injuries seem to be undoing our previously staunch defence. I do think we could have reacted quicker to their threat, but I suspect he'll feel the players have let him down a bit today. He's probably counting the minutes until Ryan Nyambe returns. Crewton
RamsTV 31Vickers 7.5 Solid saves, no worldies, but also caught and punched well. 2Wilson 7 Pretty sound defensively, but less inclined to risk isolation when attacking from RB - sensible today. 35Nelson 8 Rock, as per, though should have done better with first-half header. 6Cashin 5.5 Tough afternoon against a surprisingly quick opponent. Goal-line clearance saved a point in the end. 20Elder 7 Grew in confidence as the game went on, great covering interception and attacked willingly. 7Barkhuizen 6 Flitted in and out. 16Thompson 6 Couldn't influence the game much. 8Bird 6.5 Very involved, should have done better perhaps with his one chance and not much worked in the final third. 4Hourihane 5.5 Too deep, ghost-like in defence and corners needed more variety. 11Méndez-Laing 6 Faded after a bright start - time for a rest perhaps? The ref - 6.5/10 - much improved from his appalling performances at home to Plymouth and away at Bristol Rovers last season, gave us sweet FA but, most importantly, didn't buy play acting and histrionics from Lincoln players which last season under him would undoubtedly have seen us reduced to 10 men and facing a late penalty. 17Sibley 6 Plenty of involvement in attacks, but aside from 1 cross and one effort narrowly wide, struggles for impact. 19John-Jules 6 A few good touches, but perhaps should have played more centrally. 9Collins 6 No lack of effort, but a few promising situations came to naught today. Ian Buxton's Bat
ATG 31Vickers 7…..some decent stops especially the 1 on 1 in the second half 2Wilson 7……after a super-attacking display against Burton this was more of a normal right back outing. Did well. 35Nelson 7.5……solid as always. 6Cashin 5.5……whupped for pace 3 times. Played well otherwise with good goal line clearance 20Elder 6…….still rusty in first half but much better than V Burton. I’ve been critical of him in terms of negativity and mistakes but was more positive and very few errors 7Barkhuizen 6…….did OK. Could’ve crossed a millisecond quicker on a couple of occasions to beat their proactive blocking 16Thompson 6…..OK. Energetic as always 8Bird 6.5…….involved a lot but generally spreading it wide. Needed a Fleetwood style drive or a Cambridge away from last year pass slipped through pass to Collins to mix it 4Hourihane 6.5……..involved a lot in open play and broke up their play quite well. Corners not great today 11Méndez-Laing 6…….excellent effort, not a lot came off for him today but they really packed their area making it hard to get decent crosses in 17Sibley 5.5……..played as a 10?…but couldn’t see any link up with Collins 19John-Jules 6……..nice touches and tried to get involved 9Collins 6.5……no service or support for first 25 or so minutes. Worked hard as always and sniffed out 4 or 5 half or three quarter chances No-one was terrible, no-one was scintillating and it was a game we could’ve won or could’ve lost. Seen some comments on match thread saying we didn’t turn up today - I couldn’t fault anyone’s effort. Men’s toilets 0.5/10…….no windows, no water, no light……..how do they get any sort of stadium certificate? At least you had some! No ladies toilets, just 3 non-flushing portaloos for us. For 1800 supporters, probably about 400 females. I called over the head steward and threatened legal action, was promptly escorted over to the clean, well-lit facilities in the main stand, which were empty, of course. Ellafella
31Vickers: 7 Good game. 2 full-length saves & snuffed out the 1 v 1. 2Wilson: 7 Slotted in well and did the defensive work well. Distributed well. Consequently muted his attacking play. 35Nelson: 7.5 Solidity personified. A thumping headed chance was straight at their keeper. 6Cashin: 6 Was beaten for pace 3x by Taylor which is unusual to see. Picked up a half-mark for clearing off the line. 20Elder: 6.5 Probably his best game yet after his Burton nightmare. Looked a sharper more solid version of himself. Some nice long passes. 7Barkhuizen: 6 Posed some threat but marshalled by their defence. 16Thompson: 6 Brought industrial energy in the final quarter without finding a foothold to exploit. 8Bird: 7.5 Weaved away constantly in the engine room in a crowded space. 4Hourihane: 6 A little off the pace of the game & couldn’t quite deliver the killer ball. 11Méndez-Laing: 7 Early threats when he powered through but thereafter well marshalled. 17Sibley 6 Good early game cross which found Nelson’s forehead. 19John-Jules 6 Would like to see him step-up and link up with Collins more. He needs to take a lead not play 2nd & 3rd fiddle. 9Collins: 6.5 A couple of half-chances in the box but a game of feeding off scraps. Credit to Imps who put in a huge effort to thwart Derby, and actually had the far better chances in a game that Derby bossed possession wise. A draw was a fair outcome. We need another option to draw upon via the open window as the sticky pitches become energy-sapping and we move into the 2nd part of the season. We are set fair but not convincingly top 2 quality yet. Crewton, angieram and Andrew3000

There were lots of male Rams leaving the black hole of a toilet with wet shoes but fair play to Lincoln they eventually found an emergency lamp so we were no longer peeing in the dark. 😮 Edited January 21 by Ellafella

Ram@Lincoln
ATG 31Vickers - 6.5 - did his job, nothing remarkable. Good save from free kick. 2Wilson - 6 - could've been sent off, rather quiet going forward. Meh game. 35Nelson - 7 - won his headers, steady performance. Should've scored. 6Cashin - 4.5 - terrified me against Taylor, was beaten time after time. Points for goal line clearance. 20Elder - 7 - much improved from Burton, looked solid going forward. 7Barkhuizen - 6.5 - few recent runs but end product missing. Looks tired. 16Thompson - 6 - ran around but didn't really do anything. 8Bird - 6.5 - kept the ball moving and that's about it. Didn't really tackle or shoot. A passenger. 4Hourihane - 7 - kept the game ticking over, directed play. A few wayward shots but worth a go. Stood up against their Mitchell numpty at full time. 11Méndez-Laing - 6.5 - nothing really clicked for him. Poor set pieces. Looked to play safe rather than take on player. 17Sibley - 6.5 - ran around, couple of distant shots, didn't do much. 19John-Jules - 5.5 - didn't really do anything and didn't seem to get that involved. 9Collins - 7 - could've and should've scored a couple of headers. Stood up at full time to their Mitchell numpty. Ellafella
