Didn't The EFL (*Feckem!) hint that one club directly suing another was against their rules, and liable to potentially lead to the suing club losing their membership status (AKA "Golden Ticket")?  🤷‍♂️
So lawful in the legal sense, but against league membership rules?  🤷‍♂️

Surely The EPL (Or whatever they're called) have a similar, if not identical, ruling?  🤷‍♂️

It's all getting a little bit sickening now... in a curly perm kind o' way!  🤮

The football authorities should have nipped this in the bud, when Wycombe and Boro 'sued' us.

Where will it end, compensation for bad referee/var decisions, compensation for bad tackles leading to serious injuries, the list is endless?

Players suing each other for mental stress and "Feelings of genitalactic inadequacy whilst sharing club showers/changing areas"!   👀

Everton may well have overspent but it's the premier league that should be enforcing their own laws. If Everton are guilty then the premier league should be throwing the book at them. Can't be having clubs get off scot free as it just makes a mockery of the whole thing.

Depends exactly what they mean by "sued" (and I'm not clicking a Daily Mail link to find out in this particular case).  "Suing" through the official league arbitration method is absolutely fine, "suing" through other methods (UK courts, the FA, Court of arbitration for sport etc) is not allowed (for things that are specifically required by league rules to go through arbitration anyway).

Obviously in this case things may be complicated even more by the mix of EFL and PL clubs involved (and clubs that are actively in the process of moving between those 2 leagues).

I think the recurring trend is clubs are trying to get money to off set their own financial irregularities and failures.

I do think professional football is at a crossroads that we are sleepwalking into (much like our own issues a couple of years back). My feeling is we will be having more discussions like this and whilst our club won’t be where we quite want it to be, we will be very glad to be away from all this.

Well in the premier league a newly relagated Sheffield United sued a Carlos Tevez infected West Ham so there seems little resistance to it.

Anyway it does seem all ends up that Everton are in for a torrid time

and they're in the process of spaffing huge amounts of money on a new ground - a ground that they can ill afford (or fill) in the Championship.....

That’s due to not putting in their accounts on time - anyway we finished 7th so we are in the prime place to sue everyone in the top six this season if anything comes up in the next 7 years

No.  He's just a schoolyard bully who squeezed a couple of million from an entity on it's arse with the help of his EFL toadies.  I notice he never chased after the promoted Villa who made our expenditure look like tuppence fished out of a drain.
