Wise words from Francis Lee

Have been reading the last issue of club mag The Rampage and a piece in the Francis Lee interview made me think of watching games recently when it has looked like the effort hasn't been there. This has added to my frustration of being a fan when players and management talk about what must be done next time etc after the game when it's all too late, and I think why didn't they do it on the pitch that they've just come off instead!

He said "When I went on the pitch, I was hell bent on playing as much as I could and when I was walking off the pitch, that was it. By the time I had got into the changing room, I had forgotten the game. Everyone would be rowing in the dressing room, but I used to say, 'hang on, you've had your chance out there an you've not done it so forget it and move on.' It was as simple as that as far as I'm concerned because if you let these sores keep opening up then you can finish up with a dressing room full of problems."
