Once again a certain amount of hypocrisy being shown by our fans, regardless of being in the “cars” or not, why should those that ignored the transport laid on by the club and carried on drinking after this be not punished ?

If all of them had called it a day when they were supposed to, none of this would have happened.

I also wonder why their cars were there in the first place....I fear there is more to this story than has come out already.

Because there is absolutely nothing wrong with them being out and socialising and being sensible about it! The issue is with the ones who took it way way past that, that does not mean that every player who stayed did that!

Bradley Johnson was definitely out and Richard Keogh was definitely unconscious in the back seat.

I have absolutely no issue with that video in the sun at all. Players are human, grown men out having a few beers and getting drunk. They are human and they're allowed.

I've been out many times and seen Derby players blind drunk. Buxton, Keogh, Bryson, Russell, McEveley, Idiakez, Paul Connolly just off the top of my head.

Never a problem.

This is a good point. People condemning the players for being out and having a drink about 4 days before the match. They’re human. They are allowed to go out and have a drink, so that in itself is not an issue in the slightest, and anyone saying it is is being unreasonable!

What is definitely not fine, however, is getting in a car afterwards.

All four of them can get gone as well. Total lack of professionalism. We’ll never get anywhere until we clear the dressing room of this rotten attitude to football. Want to see players who care enough about the club to not be getting hammered when they should be focusing on working out why we’re performing so poorly and sorting it. There’s a culture at the club that needs to be cleared out, who knows how often this sort of stuff has happened in the past as well! Quite a few of us have said in the past it feels like something within the club isn’t right, all these sudden failings and manager sackings. Maybe it’s not the managers to blame, but the players instead and a lack of care about the club? Who knows, but we certainly cannot accept this blatant lack of professionalism and lack of respect for the managerial team. Should be honoured to work under Cocu, not undermining him doing stupid poo like this. Have to take a strong stand here and get rid of them all, either by sacking the drunk drivers, or selling the rest. Have to clear this out the club right now.

Certainly at the very least don’t want to see anyone involved featuring tomorrow or for the foreseeable future.

Feel so bad for MM and Cocu. Totally let down by players they pay well and do everything for.

At least you are being consistent in your view which is commendable. However if you are saying, which I totally agree with, it seems to have become an accepted culture at the club, who in their right mind signed off this team building to be held in a pub, and not only that but encourage them to have a few by laying on transport to get home.

Had it been a jaunt organised by the players I may agree with your view, however as a club we have to be accountable with some of the responsibility imo.

Yeah I agree with that too. Don’t have a problem with the players who left at 8 as the club organised it. But don’t think the club should be organising anything In a pub without staff being there. Sad state of affairs, but Some footballers can’t be trusted. Annoyed with the club as well, they need to be making better decisions. They couldn’t have known it would get this bad though. They’d think the players would at least act like adults.

Some men got drunk the night before their day off

Some men aren’t professional athletes paid a lot of money to keep themselves in peak condition for a 9/10 month period. There’s also a difference between having a drink, and taking it to a stupid level where players are throwing up and noones stopping them.

Is that not a contradiction?

No it’s a response to the instant let’s rehabilitate them in to the squad that’s being spouted ,

im not saying that they should never be allowed to play football or earn a living again but that is further down the line ,,,,at this point they have behaved criminally and acted in a way that deserves the consequence of losing their contracts with the club ,once that has happened they are totaly entitled to learn from their disgusting dangerous and criminal behaviour and change their way / make amends and if our club or any other club are prepared to give them a chance with a contract then fair enough

we live in a world now where far too many do just as they please at the expense of others and face little or no consequences

As the club statement “They should have known when to stop and also ignored the opportunity to be driven home using cars laid on by the club, and chose to stay out.”  Just because they weren’t stupid enough (hopefully) to drive home, they are now part of online videos circulating portraying the club in a very bad light.

We have no idea whether any of those in the Sun video did this, apart from a dozy looking Malone, does anyone in the that video actually look in a bad way? No.

They all could have stopped those that did. Must take more responsibility for me. Maybe getting rid of them all is a little harsh, but they certainly need to reprimanded and taken out of the team for a while, until they learn how a pro footballer should act.

Basically anyone that stayed and got hammered egging others on.

???

No-one who was present, who didn't get in the cars (or see them get in the cars) deserves any sort of hitback on this. They're not getting smashed, they're not getting wasted. They're all having a chat with their mates.

A completely normal activity.

Maybe a couple couldn't make it and made their own way to the pub later and things got out of hand.

Maybe,m, only the players and maybe the staff would know the answer.....and hopefully it won’t appear in tomorrow’s papers ?

Seen many people come out of prison changed for the better, not saying he will end up inside..... far from it.

As long as he makes amends in his life to the folk he has upset with his actions of Tuesday night..... and I’m talking the ones close to him, I’m sure he’ll be remorseful, and maybe he will reconsider how he views life.

I hope all involved will be changed for the better because of this, as I say..... it’s braver to change for the better, be remorseful and try and make amends..... it may devine them short term, but what matters much more, is how they react as people

You are spot on ,the thing is people rarely change unless unless the consequences of not changing are too painfull

Has anyone said they’ve thinking of finding another club? I’ve said I’m ashamed to be a Derby fan, and that I don’t know if I can support these players. Doesn’t mean I want to switch clubs. This is still my club, and always will be. These just aren’t my players. And if it means waiting until they’re gone before watching us again, so be it. I’ll probably feel differently soon, but right now this whole incident makes me sick.

FWIW if those involved don’t feature tomorrow, I’ll be behind the rest of the squad 100%

Wasn’t quoting you but yes there was a poster stating they were considering finding another club

Agree mate. People are only saying it's out of order because of what happened at the end of the night.
