Are Charlton really going to be enthralled by a home tie to Norwich? May as well just jump straight to semi finals in Jan and pair the premier league top 4 off against each other. Carl Sagan Posted August 10, 2017 Share Posted August 10, 2017 When we've such a huge squad of roughly equal players it's important to make progress in the cups to keep everyone interested and playing. I don't mind the postponement because it's an extra game for the also-rans (apart from Blackman apparently). Rowett picked a brave team against Grimsby (I'd only argue Roos should have been on the bench rather than Carson but presumably it means he's trying to shift Roos out) but it's then incumbent on the players to do the business and go through so they keep getting matches.
