Points predictions for August!

Not seen a thread on this yet, so why not start one eh?

No prizes, just good old self-confidence and a pat on the back.

Sunderland v Derby - WIN 2-1 - Sunderland are in a state at the minute, a cautious 2-1 will do the trick

Derby v Wolves - DRAW 1-1 - Wolves might take a while to gel and this is a home game, but they've got some good attacking players

Derby v Preston - WIN 2-0 - Preston lost the manager that took them to 11th last year but brought in Alex Neil. Not pulled up many trees in the transfer window.

Bolton v Derby - WIN 1-0 - Bolton will make this a scrappy game

Sheff Utd v Derby - DRAW 1-1 - Sheff Utd should be pretty good this season, very lose-able game.

Pretty optimistic from me, and in reality this could be around 8 points instead, but we've got a reasonable few games in August. 11 points from 15 available.

I'd agree with that. The games after are going to be seriously hard so if we don't get off to a good start we might be in trouble.

brentford, Cardiff, forest, Wednesday, Norwich, Leeds, reading, Fulham, QPR then boro. That's looks tough

Scoring more than 1 goal in the league in August would be a massive improvement

And more excitement too.

Anything less than 15 and Rowett should be sacked, all the players should be released on a free and we should put the youth team out. At least they will play with PASHUN.

Bennett, Elsnik and Zanzala in the first team immediately!

Love the optimism but not so sure we will start the season on title-winning form

Not seen enough since GR took over, either at the end of last season or during this pre-season, to suggest this will be the case. Think we will be hard to beat but still worried about a light weight midfield and front line that will be easily bullied by our more aggressive competitors. And goals don't seem to be easy to come by so far either.

Sunderland - Lose. Their problems have been over-emphasised and will probably galvanise a decent response from them. Backed by 30,000 + vociferous mackems more concerned about winning at any cost than bashing their own team, despite what we might want to hope for. Not our ideal kind of hunting ground over recent years. It will also be classic Derby to lose this one.

Wolves - Win. We have a great record against them at home and they have some adjusting to do in their rather strange new world

Preston - Win. They have lost the continuity Grayson gave them together with one or two good players

Bolton - Draw. Newly promoted club on the up, likely to take last season's success into the new one, at least to start with

Sheff U - Lose. They have bought well, have a great manager and  will probably intimidate most of our boys with their fervour and desire both off and on the pitch
