At a time when we are supposedly so technologically advanced it seems strange that we still have to resort such cruelty. That being said I eat animals so who am I to talk? I am leaning towards its OK where necessary. It does surprise me though that we haven't got ways now of testing against human tissue that's been grown in labs, I'm sure I hear that skin, blood etc has been artificially created now days. I expect that manufactured human tissue is too expensive to produce and in too small a quantity to be viable. Pigs are obviously used extensively as a close match to human tissue.
