Read an article on it this morning and just got me curious on what other's thoughts on animal testing are?

I personally think some better, alternative methods need to be used if/whenever possible.

At a time when we are supposedly so technologically advanced it seems strange that we still have to resort such cruelty.

That being said I eat animals so who am I to talk?

I only buy my lip sticks when I know they were tested on hamsters first

We should only test on the long term unemployed and people on the sex pest register

I don't like it but I am ignorant of all the facts.

It's something I would need to know alot more about.

Its an interesting debate.

I agree any animal testing for cosmetics should be banned.

For medical reasons its difficult. I am leaning towards its OK where necessary.

It does surprise me though that we haven't got ways now of testing against human tissue that's been grown in labs, I'm sure I hear that skin, blood etc has been artificially created now days.

This.

I expect that manufactured human tissue is too expensive to produce and in too small a quantity to be viable.

Pigs are obviously used extensively as a close match to human tissue.

I asked my cat to give me the next number in the following sequence:

1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13.

She didn't have a clue.

Wasn't there a story a few years back about defrosting frozen hamsters in people's bottoms?

Sounds like a bit of a bum deal to me.
