Sexydadbod
Quite a few of my heroes growing up, like Zanetti,Maldini,Ronaldo,Nedved,Crespo, Ballack,Scholes, Oliver Khan the late 90s/ early 2000s was a great era for football. We are obviously treated to the likes of Messi and Ronaldo now but I can't help but feel there were more world class players around in that era, particularly more world class defenders. Day
Players like Maldini are like 15 years older than myself so I never really felt it the same way as Michael Owen, watching him tear Argentina a new one only a couple years older than myself was nuts. It's the similar age that does it, not aging superstars retiring

RadioactiveWaste
As long as Chris Wheal is keeping it real, I am comfortable the grey hair my beloved found was a freak occurance.
Bris Vegas
Not so much retiring, but seeing players reaching a top level and being paid thousands a week and being born in the mid 90s. Who doesn't remember Euro 1996? Dele Alli for instance was only 2 months old then! I'm 28 so not many my age have retired yet.

Alph
Works the other way for me. I see a players DOB and see its 1993 and think wow still young... wait a minute... That's not particularly young in the football world. Where are all the players born in the mid 80's!!! When did that stop??

I want people to talk about Will Hughes and Google to say he was born in 85 Everyone born in the 90's should be playing for park teams still
Mostyn6
the Leon Osman situation, and hearing him previously described as a veteran, and also having the opinion myself, that he's probably too old for Derby... made me feel old.
Tony Le Mesmer
I watch Shearer on MOTD and think he looks old. He's only a few years older than me!! Crikey. I've got the mental age of a 16 year old but I see Shearer and he acts and speaks like me old man! He's my age!!

Even worse it is when your realize your working colleague was born -95 and is getting another, planned, child. WTF?! 21! She could be my daughter FFS. IlsonDerby
I'm only 25 so I'd say when someone like Barkley/Hughes retires I'll feel ancient.

Bridgford Ram
Slightly different but I can remember the day I realised I was as tall as Viv Anderson. I remember thinking that people were right when they were always telling me I was tall.
rynny
The one for me is when Rooney retires, he is 2 months older than me so that is when it will hit home that I am too old to be playing football and messing around.
