The_Sheriff
Cant sell Keogh he was magnificent last season and our defence looked pretty solid. I don't know the stats but I reckon we conceded one of the least? As for the armband I'm happy to let Keogh keep it although I would equally be happy for Bryson to take it! Always got a mistake in him every game played against Italy and then made a mistake against France. Hardly plays for Eire. AmericanRam
I think Pearson will keep Keogh as the captain and that will be just fine with me.

I think the simple answer is no that's why he's player of the year. He may have made his fair share of errors but no more than pretty much every other player. I think it's time to stop singling him out.

I don't want to single him out but he wasn't my player of the year because I couldn't chose one as they were all much of a muchness last season. If you think he irreplaceable that's fair enough I happen not to. I would like a more reliable CB mistake wise . There is no doubting his enthusiasm week in week out but is that enough

Unless we make Buxton captain, we don't have one on the books as yet. That's partly why Hanley would be such a good investment. Monster stopper which Pearson seems to prefer, like Huth and Morgan, PLUS he's a real captain. So we get two players in one. Which is very good value in my eyes. We need to move fast as the Geordies are closing in on him. Sell Hendrick to subsidise the purchase. Simples. All top clubs are built from the back. Professional soccer and schoolyard football are NOT the same animal. Clough one said his job was to give value to every goal Hector scored. If anything it seems more believable of shackell.
