Nottingham Forest say they expect to pay an outstanding debt to Derby County tomorrow, after their East Midlands rivals made a complaint to the Football League.

For the second year running, Forest are understood to have been late paying money related to the sale of away tickets for last month's game at the iPro.

The sum involved is understood to be in the region of £90,000.

It is the second consecutive season that Derby have been forced to make a similar complaint, with normal practice within football being to settle such transactions within a week of the fixture.

A Forest spokesman confirmed that the issue should be resolved by tomorrow however with payment expected to be made on April 13.

But the Football League are still understood to be investigating the situation.

It is the latest in a long line of unpaid bills at Forest in recent years, with the club having been a regular visitor to the High Court, most recently when they faced a petition for a winding up order over unpaid tax bills.

But chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi has pledged that there will be a restructuring behind the scenes at the Championship club this summer, with Forest said to be looking to appoint a chief executive and possibly a club secretary as well..

I wouldn't trust that man to do anything. The biggest mystery is how he can be a 'fit and proper person'. The test must have multi choice answers and he got lucky picking the right ones.

The "fit and proper person" test probably just checks for potential criminal activity. There are lot of nutter chairmen out there. The Olympiakos fella being linked with buying Forest might not pass it though.

I think Fawaz is incompetent rather than shady.

I don't think he's clever enough to be shady.

Let's be honest it isn't actually him that is in charge of paying the bills, there are people in place to do that, I just see it as totally petty that they are doing it again to us, real tin pot

What are three going to do when we throw the bill for the bog smashers at them.? If we ever play them again (in a cup competition maybe as we will never play them again in the league) then we should either ban their fans totally on the grounds that they smash up the toilets and don't pay for the tickets or we should sell the tickets ourselves for them... And we should definitely just close all the toilets in their end with a big sign saying "sorry, you can't be trusted-go pee yourself"

It clearly is petty on there side, and whilst I'm not entirely sure if it's even taken into consideration, it's not the smartest thing to be playing at when you're in an um bongo.

Totally tin pot...just shows exactly how far the mighty have fallen if they think that withholding a measly 90k will bother us.... What Mel should do is either go on Sky and say, "do you know what, they can keep it, we don't need it, we have plenty" or better still go on Sky when he gets the money with a cheque for 90k and donate it to a nottingham children's hospital and make them look even more tin pot than they are doing themselves.

The latter would be pretty funny... but maybe Sam should do it, just to shut everyone on here up!

Dcfc got a shout out from Jeff Stelling for waiving the 30k money from the fa cup.Mel has nothing to prove in the decency and probity stakes.
