Uptherams
Some of you have lost the plot if you think £7m for a 31 year old winger is good business. Jamie Ward will have a better season for Forest.
Uptherams
Created the most chances of any Englishman in the Prem last season (potentially second overall after Fabregas but not 100% sure on that).Quality player that should be playing in the Premier League (surprised Sunderland or Newcastle haven't gone for him). Can play CM as well which reduces the wingers peaking earlier issue.Which was like 8 assists. Season before was just 2. Have you seen the West Ham players. While under Big Sam. With players as big as they had to get 8 assists is not a shock. 31 is old for a winger.

Jamie Ward will have a better season for Forest. It's a lot of money, but nothing compared to the reward of promotion. He is a still a good Premier League player, he played 36 games for West Ham last season and was wanted by Sunderland and Leicester. He is 10x the player Ward is and will do very well in this league.
Kernow
The view of 'Robbieboro' on signing Downing, bless him."People were worried about Derby doing business early , bringing in bent who's passed it and probably the most over rated player going in Tom ince, two players who no where near match the quality of the Downing signing !" robglosta
I suppose there's the loss of Bamford covered, so they're not necessarily going to walk the league.

Cam the Ram
North East Daily Mail reporter... So Downing will be costing them at least £13 million and that's if they stay down for 4 seasons, don't take up the option of a further fifth year and don't hit any other clauses involved in the deal. Could well be looking at near £30 million if they get promoted this season and stay up for the next 3 seasons
Uptherams
North East Daily Mail reporter... No way. I can't/don't believe that they would pay him £35k a week or that they would pay him £70k a week if promoted. Never mind the contact being 5 years. Day
£120m+ last season for reaching the Prem, will be even more now with the new TV deal. Speculate to accumulate.
Derby blood
This just shows want a great signing Ince is for under 5 million with 8 good years in front of him,and Downing at 7 million with 2 years in front of him.Thank god we signed Ince and not Downing. needles
Not long since Downing was getting monster reviews and being touted (admittedly fairly quietly) for an England recall. Good deal even at that money - if you're pitching for a top 2 campaign and want a dose of Prem class.
Ambitious
With Sheffield Wednesday and now Middlesbrough, I'm glad we don't have the 'money spenders' tag any more. With Stuani too, I can see Middlesbrough doing well. Very ambitious side this season, matching, if not exceeding, our own.

Rampage
The Prime Minister gets £146,000 a YEAR and fairly nondescript players get half that a WEEK i.e 26 times as much per year. There is a financial tank trap waiting for Derby when we get promoted but the answer is to have A Footballer Factory of home grown players and move then on for big money when it suits us..I always preferred the one year loan players who would not burden the Club for three years if we got relegated. Alph
He's not as good as he's costing but still think he'll be the best winger we'll face this season. Or attacking midfielder. Wherever. Actually where's Sako? Has nobody bought him yet?
