what a load of cobblers - in order to attract a new manager, they will buy a player that the new manager may not ultimately want? - surely a new manager would rather have the cash to spend and a choice of which players to bring in....

​Might not necessarily be a load of cobblers Gaspode, if there is any substance to these pesky rumours, who's to say Newcastle haven't asked McClaren's representatives if he'd got a list of targets. He'll know him well from his time at QPR.

We need someone who will take us up to that next level.. Just like what McClaren is currently trying to achieve.

 

Would the likes of Hasselbaink, Rowett, Warburton achieve more at Derby than what Mac and Clough have?

 

I think Dyche is the only real option but that would all depends on what league Burnley are in next season. So do you go long term and get promoted in 5 years with a Rowett/JFH/Warburton or do you go all guns blazing and get top 2 next season and spend beyond our means.
