When you look at the Ritchie "highlights" video on YouTube, he doesn't come across as special. Whereas Johnny has a special quality in his instinctive finishing (for instance the one from Thorne's threaded pass last year). We've not seen the best of JR because we play him out of position to fit into our system, but I'd say his time will come.

But we can't buy everyone and the squad is already beginning to look large. Of course I trust the management team to make the right call whether it's:

  1. stick as we are
  2. swap Russell for Ritchie
  3. bring Ritchie in to swell the numbers

I'd prefer option 1, but I've not particularly noticed Ritchie - maybe he's simply too good not to go for. If it's option 3, I don't understand going for Ibe.

Yep...specialist. Just another hit and hope player from the looks of it. My question would be do they think he is better than Calero and Santos? If the answer is no or not for long then why bother? Same goes with Mason. This is not a loan. If he signed a 3-4 year contract where would he fit in?

That instinctive finishing that saw him miss that one on one versus Wendies? I'm sorry but one on ones are meat and drink for strikers (which he is)

I'd rather swap Dawkins out myself, but it occured to me that letting one of the winf forwards go might just out a bit of a rocket up the butt of the squad - as in keeping the group, but if there's better than you we can bring in a replacment.

Dawkins is good technically, but for never quite produces a good enough final ball - always cut in, run at defence, lose posetion. I know JR aint perfect, but I just never think anything's going to come of it when Dawkins gets the ball, at least with JR you get the odd shot or cross that does something.

Can't help but think that Keogh and Bryson have half a mind on Burnley and the PL, for different reaons though....

I'm amazed we haven't dipped into the Eredivise yet through SM links, For another Van Der Laan, Gooloze or Ron Willems type.

And before anyone jumps all over it.... I know we bought RVDL from Port Vale.

why on earth would you mention Richard Goulooze in a positive way ,,

#dcfc have been working on move for Matt Ritchie but Eddie Howe adamant he wants winger to stay at Bournemouth. Not a goer as stands. - Laurie Whitwell (Midlands Football for Daily Mail)'

'A top source close to Eddie Howe tells 5Live's @chrisdotlatchem: "There is no chance of Matt Ritchie going anywhere." So that's that. #AFCB'

I've also just been reading a Bournemouth forum.

"Eddie Howe will not sell"

"Derby Forest is the biggest rivalry in the country"

"Why would he go to Derby? He could do better"

And finally, the classic...

"Derby aren't a big club"
