Marco Motta is set for another season away from Juventus with Leicester City and Derby County interested in the player.

The 28-year-old spent the second half of last season on-loan at Genoa, making 13 Serie A appearances for the Grifone.

Despite featuring in a number of friendly matches for Juventus this summer, the right-back is set to leave the club once more, with, according to Sky Sports, Leicester and Derby eyeing moves.

The one time Italy U21 captain has become a journeyman career that has seen him don the shirts of Udinese, Torino, Roma, Catania, Bologna, as well as first club Atalanta.

Doesn't sound overly promising, some of the comments on this article label him "the definition of useless" and "one of the worst defenders I've ever seen" in addition to the absolute roasting he gets in the main article. Did sound like he was a real prospect before Juventus signed him though but seems to have failed to fulfil his potential.

Having said that though I have never seen him play and therefore will reserve judgement on him until he signs for us and plays a few games, that's if this isn't just his agent trying to stir up some interest as he only has a year left on his contract I believe. If we are looking to loan him then it would fit the theme of building relationships with top European clubs.

I don't see this happening unless Keogh to Burnley actually goes ahead.

However, if that happens and if Motta comes in, he would compete with Christie for RB and Shotton would maybe slip in at CB?

A few if's and maybes in that equation though.....and who knows where that leaves our German CB!

Hmm...he sounds foreign, and from Italy, so should be incredible...

But, we already have enough world class defenders, and we don't want to upset the apple cart by having options in our squad.

After careful analysis and reflection, it's a no from me

We have two RB's and also Freeman as back up already, this is agent talk surely.

Not if Mac has decided like the great tactician LVG that he wants to play 3 5 1 1 / 3 5 2 / 3 4 3 much of the time this year, with Christie and Forsyth as more attacking wing backs.

This all assumes Keogh is leaving, and perhaps Freeman too. Anyway just a thought to further muddy the muddy water.
