Mostyn6
Well B4 did you enjoy that? Forget Sage and his predictions thread, what everyone really wants to know is when you are going to start your 'Who's going to the Bournemouth match?' thread. Good support in the end, was painful getting there and back. A 45 minute journey turned into a 2 hour trek due to miles and miles of cones which were there for absolutely no apparent reason! where did you travel to after the match? We came out of Sheffield at J35 through Chapeltown, didn't see traffic until it went to 1 lane.
G STAR RAM
Back to Derby. Straight through Sheffield city centre down to J33 and then spent ages on M1 in all the traffic.

It's worth considering going back on the A61 at the moment, then either through Clay Cross to the A38 or back on the motorway at J29. He said, being wise after the event.
RodleyRam
M1 northbound was practically empty! Not that I'm smug about that or anything! Bet me and IlkleyRam had the easiest journeys home, pays to be a northern monkey sometimes...

ilkleyram
Incidentally the Highways Agency are currently consulting about reducing the speed limit to 60mph permanently between 7am and pm on a large stretch of the M1 either side of Sheffield - some nonsense about EU regulations on emissions. The thin end of a wedge and featured on last weeks Top Gear You can comment on the Highways Agency site, as I have done. There's a Sheffield MP trying to coordinate a resistance to it. I love that road, used to drive it all the time when I was at uni. Used to pretend to be a ralley driver (within safe speed limits of course)
Boycie
Is the snake pass, the woodhead route?
davenportram
Is the snake pass, the woodhead route? Nope that would be Woodhead Pass - its further North and starts just past Stocksbridge.
RodleyRam
Is the snake pass, the woodhead route? Snake Pass is pretty much glossop - sheffield via the reservoirs, derwent & ladybower i think. We used to run out there from Sheffield to try and get rid of the hangover.
ossieram
Why is snake pass open? I remember the days when it would shut because of snow before anywhere else in the world had seen a flake!
Ewetube
Snake pass is motorbiking heaven and ironically quite a few motorbikers go to heaven via snake pass.
