Derby County have appointed Stephen Pearce as the club's new Finance Director. Pearce will take up his post at Pride Park Stadium on Monday 30th September 2013 after agreeing to join the Rams from Barclays Premier League side Chelsea. Prior to joining Chelsea in 2006 as Head of Statutory Reporting, Pearce worked for KPMG AUDIT PLC between 2002 and 2006. His appointment further strengthens Derby’s Executive Team based at Pride Park Stadium, which is headed up by President & Chief Executive Sam Rush. Pearce commented: “I am delighted to join Derby County and I look forward to working with Sam Rush, John Vicars (Chief Operating Officer)and Lisa Biesty (Commercial Director) on the Executive Team. “Derby County has an excellent reputation within the game and I am looking forward to experiencing it first-hand. “On a personal note this is a great opportunity for myself and I can’t wait to get started and lead the finance team at Pride Park Stadium.” On Pearce’s appointment, Rush commented: “I have looked to strengthen the Executive Team in recent months and we’re delighted to welcome Stephen to Derby County. “We’re delighted to recruit someone of his calibre and he is an extremely welcome addition to the team. “We look forward to him starting his new role in a few weeks and we wish Stephen a long and successful career here at Derby County.” Pearce met club staff at Pride Park towards the end of August and took in the home games against Brentford and Burnley. But joins us as finance director. i read that as he was head of pencils and paper etc at first. Then I realised it was statutory and not stationary. Tbf, its office is open 9 - 4 on weekdays to report cases of mixymatosis and bovine TB. If you're getting a good kicking though it takes 20 minutes to get from Burton........
