Speaking as someone who is 'on the spectrum', I can't tell if this is a joke or not.

That isn't what I meant. Clowes looks a good bloke, but to think that the decision relies on Morris is f'ing tedious.
I'll be so glad to see the end of the Morris era at Derby County.

I have posted this before but it is worth a second post given Andicis comments, comments which I do understand.
As Derby supporters we have an abiding sense of tragedy, which sustained us through temporary periods of joy.?

Are you perhaps reading too much into the wording used in media reports?
I certainly hope so.

I had some of that in the states, it’s quite popular there

Yes I agree. I always felt MM got lucky and didn’t know how to turn a fiver! A proper business brain will have his feet on the floor imo.

Are you talking about Mel Morris or Mr Clowes?
Anyway I agree with your optimism, he was going to risk buying the ground with no club so his heart seems in the right place. I just hope he makes a modest start, assesses things properly and then invests in the team appropriately. I wouldn’t want a Hollywood approach next week tbh!

I understand you mean well - but please. Just stop. We all know better than to think like this.

David Clowes Football Club.
Saves on new signage costs at Pride Park I guess and David won't have to change the Website name.

Please can nobody suggest that it's a good thing he's a local businessman and Rams fan.

Clowes also has the advantage of being close to part of the process already, allegedly being close to owning Pride Park alongside the failed CK bid he/his legal team will have done a massive amount of due diligence on the stadium deal already

True. He brought McClaren in who made us competitive for the first time in 7 years and gave us a thirst for promotion.
Bring back the halcyon days of Nigel Clough!

Just read the Telegraph article about Ashley’s bid. Sounds too good to be true, so it probably is. Why are these serious bids only appearing now? Why didn’t any of these bids go in before Christmas or during January?

Exactly this. The fans and the workers for Derby have been put through the ringer enough. No more game playing, get us bought and get us signing some players.

I'll welcome Ashley if he gets the club but f*** me, he's annoying!
I'm sick to death of his game playing, he's clearly an intelligent business man so surely he understands that just continually telling everyone that he has £50m 'waiting' to complete the takeover, does not get the job done. He is a multi-billionaire so of course he has that kind of money sitting about, but unless he puts that down on the table he just looks like a buffer.
If he wants to buy the club, and if he wants it in anything other than a desolate state, walk into Quantumas office tomorrow, slap £10m on the table and tell them that they can have the other £40m next week if they just give him the go ahead.
OK that's over simplified but my point is, IF YOU WANT THE f****** CLUB, JUST BUY IT!

It's difficult times for us all chaps, let's not turn against each other.
We're all stressed. Support each other.

Not sure about that. I think there’s far more chance of success if you’re dwarfing your opponents tbh. If at level 8 we have income of 15,000 people and all our opponents have 500 attendees and we can’t win the league then even I’ll give up at that stage.

You can’t compare Derby to Chester. The situation might be similar but I can remember Chester averaging less than 1,000 attendees in the football league in the 70s. Averaging 15,000 which I think we might (stadium permitting) will see us fly up the pyramid quickly imo!

It’s not a good phrase for optimism IMO.
Appleby is obviously waiting on Q to accept his deal or reject it
I’m hoping for the former but if that’s the case why are Q looking at contingency funds for the season

It’s a very strange phrase tbh! And when you look at your thesaurus it means final blow amongst other things. Is this guy some sort of sadist who wants to impale us with even more grief I ask myself!?

The last EFL statement says:
‘and the EFL is now to be made a party to all correspondence and discussions between the Administrators, and any and all potential bidders’
It’s a condition to the suspension of withdrawal that q do this. Q have decided not to, spuriously hiding behind NDAs and principles of confidentiality. So they are further alienating the EFl.
It’s suggested Appleby has refused to accept EFl involvement. I’ll believe that when we have clear evidence of it. I say that because he’s aware of the will of the EFl and I don’t think he’s the sort of man who would disregard it.
Just my opinion, that’s what forums are for ...

To be able to buy a season ticket knowing we’re definitely taking to the field for the foreseeable, would be enough for me.
