Solid win once again under tough conditions. Nathan Jones last week was telling the truth when the surface was rustic at best alongside the wind which did effect some of the distance on clearances/goal kicks. The ball was also getting some serious bounce near the sidelines. I think Wildsmith was a getting a bit flustered with the wind and that effected his kicking a tad but he made a top save in the first half so can't be too critical. Everyone put a shift in. I think that, provided we're promoted, we should turn the Carlisle game into a Truth & Reconciliation event where, after the game, any fan who booed the team, sang "Paul Warne, your football is s*it", phoned into RD for a good old moan or screamed into Conor Hourihane's face at Stevenage should have the opportunity to do a lap of dishonour on their knees while receiving the forgiveness of the players, management and their fellow supporters.

Change the League Cup to teams that aren't playing in a European competition that season. You qualify for Europe by winning it, so will give more varied winners, more fans a chance to see their team win a trophy, fewer games for the big boys.
I think it's pretty poor that the EFL and all clubs were just ignored, why do the FA think that only PL clubs should decide how it's organised, especially in rounds where PL clubs don't even enter. If there was a vote for Derby to boycott it, I'd support it.

I think we've seen enough Championship football to know that largely the teams that linger near the bottom has some form of football or financial instability. Just take this season for example, the bottom 13 teams have had a change in manager during this season, some with multiple changes. This idea of sacking Warne as soon as he's promoted the club just screams Chansiri.
The only goal should hopefully we get promoted will be to stay up and Warne more than deserves his shot and dare I say more than achievable when there's plenty of basketcase clubs in that league who will spend most of the summer in a manager recruitment rat race.
