I understand we are in L1 and it would seem we have very little to spend(understandable after our situation)
But I miss the unknown player that striker from the lower leagues of Argentina or the young CM playing in Spain top B teams. I guess we don't scout there just dreaming I guess lol

Warne has said the players he wants are at clubs waiting on bringing replacements first, which could be Rhodes or Godden.
Ive seen Stoke have a few ayers available, Tyrese Campbell being one but I imagine he would get a Championship move. However, Warne has said he wants pace up top, so maybe Dwight Gayle could be an option? 1 year left on his deal but seems to be out of favour.
Didn't even think of him but if we got him would be amazing

If we play the 352 which Warne favours...we only have 1 no9 in Collins..but we do have Mendez Laing, Barkhuizen, Sibley and Washington to play the other striker role..so the main striker role is the main target..as we are all aware.
However, if we agree that Smith, Hourihane and Bird are the central midfield 3..apart from Thompson ( who currently is playing lwb), where is the cover for any of them???
Fair point that

Assombalonga would be great, perhaps lost a fair amount of his explosiveness that made him so good but still a cut above this level. I don’t think he will drop into League One, though, unfortunately.
Sadly could be right. I am worried we lack a striker or two with. Season a week away

I had a little nose on transfermarkt to see what calibre of free agents are still out there (aware it’s not 100% accurate and not checking on any current transfer news/rumours around these players), and there are still options out there. Some way out of our reach but others more realistic;
Assombalonga 30 - striker
Benik Afobe 30 - striker
Lucas Joao 29 - striker
George Cox 25 - left sided defender who has been playing top flight Dutch football for a few seasons at a mid to lower table side, now on a free. Came through Brighton’s academy. Be a different option and potentially low cost for the second left wing back….admittedly I’ve never seen the lad play and this is just based on a few mins reading. EDIT - just checked news and he’s on trial at Hull.
Andre Green 24 - left sided attacker, been playing in Slovakia, was at Sheff Weds and Charlton previously scoring goals at championship level, scored 11 for Slovan Bratislava last season.
Josh Martin 21 - left sided attacker left Norwich on a free, was on loan at Barnsley last season and scored 3 in 23 games, season before was on loan at Doncaster and scored 4 in 20 games.
Not for a second expecting any of these to appear at the club, just found it interesting (and reassuring) that there are still players out there and some at good ages too.
Assombaloga for me joao would be unreal can but dream

Brit Assomballoonga somebody (bloke who may know more than me) name dropped today. Not sure myself.
I would take him all day. Always liked him.
Not sure of his fitness. Belive he was playing in Turkey ( could be wrong ) but if he wanted and wasn't on stupid wages the trial defo.

I’ve seen Zander Clark, the former st Johnstone gk, is available on a free. Being a sporadic viewer of Scottish football I thought he was quite highly rated in SPL.
I’m sure Ben Foster hasn’t found a new club yet. I don’t think he’d be a bad signing for league 1 and could fit in the clubs wage structure. Surely Derby could be an attractive team for him if he his unable to get a team in the premier league, which he was originally looking for.
Zander is a yes from me would be our number one for sure

Already said it will be players that didn't start the Leicester game.
I more thinking trialist in
Will they be any new ones?

Has he got a wage going forward past June at the moment? Isn’t he a free agent?
Ya on a free I sure he will have offers and more then we are willing to pay so guess it down to him.

I can see this one.
Local ish family been linked with him a few times. Would not be surprised if we went for him in the past but for one reason and another never happened.
Will he drop his wage I fhink so.
Ideal signing for me

Berahino been released by the Wendies , was beginning to find his form towards the end of the season , would be a shrewd signing imo

If the league table does not lie then surely it is Huddersfield that deserve to go up as they finished ahead of Forest?
Let's not have play offs and have dead rubber games for weeks on end yay!!
