Great point, there was such a choice of pre match boozers, on a summers night it was amazing to walk up to the ground walking past the pubs, the smell of beer and fags, or cigarettes and alcohol as oasis said, the atmosphere around each pub, the chants, the banter, the pushing to the front of the bar and then as one every heading down Cambridge st, nothing what so ever like the walk to Pride Park, at the BBG the atmosphere was built up in those site streets and taken into the ground with you, it was impulsive not fabricated, you only have to watch some of the old 80s game to hear it, the football in the early 80s had gone long ago but the atmosphere was still there, maybe not so electric but none the less still there.

Time for another trip down memory lane, there is a lot of uncertainty around at the moment with the same old diatribe being repeated verbatim on all the social media sites so how about we post some of our favourite images of the old place, no need to wallow in glorification but we could do with a collection of photos, memories and pictures to remember those days gone by , Stevie Bloomer, FA Cup ties, penalty spots repainted, seats flying through the air like frisbees, big norm and Frannie Lee, juventus, Real Madrid, fans around the pitch v Fulham, Shaftesbury Ave, Cambridge St, The Baseball Hotel, Champions of England, Todd and McFarland, King Kev, Charlie, Wanchope, Clough and Taylor, Docherty, Arthur, The Bald Eagle, Van der Laan at the back post, Popside, Ossie End, C Stand, The Paddocks, Man United in the 79s man United in the 80s, Leeds, Chelsea, Dave Mackay, Champions of England again, bomb damage in the war
Embracing the past is not the same as being stuck in the past and at a time when the future is so uncertain what’s the harm !
For those of us that went to the BBG it’s not the sort of place you forget.
im thinking next year of recording some memories and uploading them to a virtual museum type website as pat of a Rams Heritage project, so thought would be good to test it out.

As if this thread and subject isn’t the biggest thing in all our lives at the moment! Any true Derby fan is probably like me and you constantly refreshing these pages looking for a glimmer of hope from a never ending vortex of doom. My disbelief that MM hasn’t been pinched by now is bemusing to me!

I guess that's directed at me,why would i need to post on a matchday thread, nobody wants to know how i feel about the match or how well we have or haven't played. I can't see the point in saying Lawrence (or any other player of your choice) has had a good game then the next week saying he is the devil in disguise because he missed a sitter. I post on here because i don't want to see the club go under,i am not being negative just realistic. If that doesn't fit in with your way of thinking there is nothing i can do about that.

Have you really heard this rumour from a “reliable” source or has someone just made the story up?
Even if it were true, why would they be asking the EFL? As I understand it, the EFL only consists of The Championship, League 1 and League 2. There is no way that a brand new club would join the football pyramid anywhere near any of those levels.

Just been reading stuart webbs book and thought this paragraph sounded familiar!
We just seem to lurch from crisis to crisis in our history, but so far we've always pulled through. Hopefully its the same in this instance as well

    Cripes!
Money’s still oozing out the club even with a dramatically reduced wage bill.
