You have to be there. .

Maybe your Gran is a sprinter

Correct Curtains Gary Lineker , John Aldridge and Mickey Quinn made careers and scored a lot of goals by being there .

Quinn was a trainee at Derby binned off by Tommy Doc

I have a 1946 Cup Final programme and ticket stub amongst my memorabilia. Will post a photo when my daughter comes round this weekend( I am a Luddite at techno things ) . Lots of early cigarette cards , a few early photos and a first day post envelope for the Benfica game

Remember the other promoter - Mike Waterson?

Don’t want a repeat of those dark days.

Don’t think Mike was bad , had good intentions but didn’t realise how bad our position was as the time and his pockets were not deep enough to resolve it.

In a world where social media is the be all and end all of everything and the whole world revolves around likes and followers, not to even have a website in a customer facing company is at the best prehistoric and the worst extremely worrying.

I must be prehistory as I don’t Facebook , Twitter , Instagram or any other gram for that matter. Not interested in the slightest by “influencers” etc. I do realise I’m probably in a minority though ?? . Maybe that there is a website under another company name ?

Anyone else just feel that whoever takes us over eventually will be criminally out of their depth and kill the club anyway?

Derby City Football Club has a better ring to it anyway. I'm ready for the rebirth.

That name was tried out and failed at Mickleover Sports and we have always been a County club not just the City and surrounding places.

He's had 1 wrongful (straight) red card in the first team and two for the U23s for 2nd yellows).

Let him play his game and if it looks like there's a chance he could pick up a 2nd yellow then bring him off. If he accumulates 5/10/15 yellows and misses a few games then its nothing lost anyway. I don't think it's down to discipline, but where the fouls are committed - it doesn't matter too much if it's high up the pitch when applying pressure, but it does matter if they can get a decent ball into the box from it.

    Defensive stats per 90
Tackles - only Watson and Lawrence tackle more often out of our attacking players
Dribbled past - less often than Knight, Roberts, Watson (out of our attacking players)
Interceptions - lowest in the squad
Fouls - Highest in the squad (considerably)
    Cards - Highest

Clearances - only Jozwiak is lower
Blocks (Shots/crosses/passes) - Only Lawrence and Waghorn are higher (out of our attacking players)

Emi Buendi is a red card waiting to happen most week for Norwich but the carrot crunchers play him every game with him they can ,  look half the side they are without him

Nothing better than seeing Knockaert at fault for Forest to concede...very lazy!

If they lose then what an incentive for us, a win today and we would be above them with a game in hand.

Booked early as well. 2nd yellow would be nice

    That game was not tasty!

Remember Toddy breaking down the right wing in front of the Popside, McNab came in with a strong tackle but Toddy went straight through  it as if McNab didn't exist, making him look a right prat.

It was shortly afterwards when he sought to impose himself again that the ref invited him to leave the field!

I was stood on the Popside as usual that day and yes all the “action” was right in front of it

Yep, a dark, dark day in DCFC history. Little did the 4-1 scoreline reflect that at the time.

The beginning of the end of our attempts to get into the PL under Morris' stewardship & a massive turning point in us abandoning the very things which had brought us success up to that point with McCLaren as manager.

Still, we made a little profit from some gullible fools in West Yorkshire (minus the 700k we gave to his mum to scout Kylian Mbappé, whhops!) and saw some nice individual goals, so that's fine.

You have never liked him since his Mum turned you down ?

A great 70s shirt as worn by the mascot in the photo from the Ram, not sure if this was a training shirt or a potential match shirt or just sold in the shop but not seen one before this, would make a great match shirt some forty five years later, one for @Davidwith no big collars !

Makes the rovrum result so odd

On current form I think Wycombe and Brum are certs to go down. Think the other place will be between  Cov , Hudds or Rotherham.
Think Sheff Wed will survive , us and unfortunately the dogs will be clear.

Phil Jones will be my barometer for this window.

I have a feeling that Rooney wants Jones and he may have spoken to him.  You could see Jones wanting to come and just play football.

As each day ticks by, if Jones signs for someone else, to me that would be a sign all is not well.

I appreciate why that may seem far fetched, but it has been reported in more than one news outlet, he had been favourite to sign for us with bookies for a while also.

The other clue to this window is the fact Rooney publicly says he wants his deals done quickly, just like Cocu did last year. As each day ticks by without any valid links, suggests all is not well.

Don’t think Jones is fit. Not played since Feb I’m sure I’ve read. Could be wrong

Bielsa may be an analytics nerd but he's also tactically extremely rigid and not massively sophisticated. Unlocking Bielsa ball is simply breaking their press at which point their wingbacks are too far up the pitch meaning oceans of space exists both behind and in front of them and matching their work rate i.e. following their runners. In the championship teams found this harder to do because of concentration levels dropping off in lesser players, less technically able players being able to break out of their aggressive press and fatigue setting in more quickly due to playing more games. Even in our division though  their form fell off the edge of the cliff around February as they started to tire making it much easier to match their intensity and break through their press.  In the premiership good quality teams such as Leicester etc. are already taking them to the cleaners on an increasingly regular basis.

His inability to cope with a basic formation change in our second leg should have been the moment everyone realised this is a guy who just cannot adapt which is one of the reasons why he's never won anything. It is also why this guy is at Leeds United and not Barcelona. He's not a fraud as his approach to analytics and implementation of footballing philosophy is pretty unique from what I can gather but he's not god and not one of the best managers in the world despite what others claim.

He won't relegate Leeds as they'll pick up enough points against good teams having an 'off day' and are just as good as 7/8 other teams in the division. But finishing 14th/15th (where they'll likely end up) isn't taking the premier league by storm like they all imagined they would. My guess would be he'll leave early next season after a string of poor results due to burnout in the core of the squad starts to hit.

The Covid break helped them enormously last season. Gave them a big rest which avoided the fatigue of the previous season
