Another proper underwhelming window. We're told we need to get a few in in January, but yet we're again about to start panic buying for the likes of Lee flipping Gregory. This is an all time low as a Derby Fan for me at 35. I appreciate our situation the last couple years but MY GOD.

Trying to get the cast off rejects from bottom of the table Wednesday and even that's not guaranteed. What a fall from Grace.

I would honestly rather have Chris Martin back. Atleast we'd have the feelings of nostalgia with it, aswel as the slight chance of him rekindling his link up play for us.

    Lee Flipping Gregory.

    🙃🙃

Bottom of the table Wednesday are still in the league above us.

If they had any decent players they would hardly be trying to punt them to a League 1 side without a couple of brass farthings to rub together.

3 years ago and had a couple of injuries since then. Wednesday fans don't like him either and say his legs are gone.

Incredibly uninspiring. Warne specifically said we were looking abroad at players, yet come the end of the window we're looking at ANOTHER Wednesday player, over the age of 30 and on big money.

What's the scouting department doing? Or is Warne ignoring them?

Looking at Thomas' signings for Oxford, there's absolutely no correlation.

That's like saying I'm looking to buy a Ferrari but at the moment I only have enough cash for a down payment on a Lada.

Still doesn't stop me looking at Ferraris though.

You think Clowes doesn't know what's going on with the budget then? You grow weary because you've no answer to the points being made. 😄

I think that Clowes knows far more than a lot of folks on here profess to know about our budget

I know it’s done I’m not stupid …as I said previously it was pointing out to another poster on here that we had a well thought of up and coming coach/ manager that’s it …move on from telling me to move on lol

Ignore me I just grow weary sometimes of the same hackneyed cliches being trapped out on here (present company excepted)

When I read comments about our budget in League 1 or whatever DC said or didn't say then the phone nearly went through the window.

Am sure this debate started a year ago. It's like playing chess by post with someone living in Antarctica.

I don’t im just pointing out he was well thought of to another poster

You've made it patently clear through a number of your posts that you believe getting rid of Rosenoir in favour of Warne was a big mistake.

It's done whatever you or I think about it and how many times you bring it up ain't going to change things one iota.

If you're unhappy about the decision write a strongly worded letter to Clowes if you haven't done already but banging on about it isn't going to alter where we are now.

Why would Liverpool be consulting an fa assessor ? What a ridiculous stupid thing to say ….Rosenior was assistant to Rooney at the time ..plenty on here including myself questioned if he was influential and thought Rooney was the main man …its proved over time that Rooney is pretty useless and Rosenior seems to be doing ok …and is trusted with good loan signings ….enough said can’t be arsed to argue with people who come up with crap as an argument

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but Rosenior ain't coming back any time soon

  7. The worst football I've ever seen fact was under Cocu when he contrived to play a system which I assume was meant to bore the opposition players so much that they fell asleep and allowed us to advance up the pitch unhindered and score.

Only it didn't work. Apart from being boring. And it wouldn't have mattered whom the opposition were or what division they were in as would still be crap.

It was that effective that he got bulleted when we were what bottom of the Championship?

In this context I find it weird reading the comments about the worst football I can remember under Warne.

Unless the same posters have had a good old dose of brain bleach. Or it doesn't suit their narratives. Whatever.

Nelson, Wilson, Vickers, Elder, Washington, Waghorn, John-Jules, Ward, Blackett-Taylor, Bradley, Nyambe, Fornah.

12 Warne signings. We cant also simply chalk up the make up of our playing squad (and subsequently the wage bill) to someone else's legacy.

I'm sure Clowes would argue that the above list of signings represents significant backing at this level.

"The idea that Warne is some impoverished coach with no resources and a begging bowl is utter nonsense. Our wage bill (even on our business plan), pulling power as a club (purely on size), facilities etc eclipse the rest of the division with maybe one or two exceptions."

Despite the above we were still outbid for a player by another team in this league.

So obviously all of the advantages you listed counted for nowt.

I don’t understand why you want to constantly downplay the job Warne is doing.

There are plenty of cautionary tales out there to suggest that this league is not as weak as some suggest.

Charlton have spent significantly in both transfer windows and yet they are 18 points and 12 places from the play off places. Wycombe, a perennially awkward top half side, are having to look over their shoulders at the relegation zone being 19th.

Blackpool are 8th and Wigan are 13th having just come down from the Championship, and Wigan would only be 9th without their points deduction.

There are three out of four promoted sides from League 2 currently in the top 10 showing that there are fewer ‘bankers’ to rely on.

Just because you have the ability to spend money and outspend others in the division, there is still so much to get right.

We are currently 4th and likely to be three points from 2nd once games in hand have been played. It’s not perfect, but it’s far from a disaster or irretrievable.

I thought that was patently obvious.

Not having been relegated back to the division again to have to get promoted 3 times from it.

No in the context of 3 back to back promotions from this division?

If this is quite successful what's very or extremely successful and which other manager(s) has obtained these credentials?

There'll be lots more slagging Management/Players/Ownership/lack of investment etc. Then if anyone signs they will be "hopeless, useless, too old, too young, he's no good on Football manager " etc.

    How sad but true

And? It doesn't magically alter the fact that we've got resources that most L1 clubs could only dream of.

So we got outbid for a striker, oh well. Was that the only striker we could possibly sign? Of course not.

Just making the point that transfer fees out trump training facilities, our huge history and fanbase etc etc which you mentioned in your original post.

And obviously we don't have the resources of other league 1 clubs if one has outbid us for a player we were in for.

It would take an absolute idiot to keep watching our lack of control and continue to play 2 in the middle.

I don’t believe Warne is an idiot - he’s been quite successful in this division so why on Earth is he persevering with this rubbish idea?

You’ve got arguably 2 of the most technical midfielders in the division and they look awful. They’re not awful players but they’re being made to look bad by being crammed into a system that doesn’t suit them.

Quite successful.....3 promotions from this division.

What would you classify as very successful.

    Or extremely successful.

  14. Interesting how the dynamics of the argument has shifted by the same posters from a few months ago with Warne won't get us promoted to now Warne won't be able to keep us in the Championship (assuming therefore that he will have got us promoted)

Not many , I bet . Goodness knows how Burton survive with their crowds . But did Clowes buy DCFC to pump £300k a month into the business?

    That was my point.

We're not dissimilar from a whole host of other league clubs by turning over losses on a regular basis.

Why did the chairman of those teams acquire those clubs?

Am sure Clowes didn't need reminding of the harsh reality of this when he bought the club, but the money has to come from somewhere like other league clubs or we fold again. It's that simple.

Witty as always Tyler. Notice how you always try the snide reply, rather than ever addressing points made. Once again, I'll leave replying to you after this.

You mentioned the recent trend wasn't positive that's all which is what 11 wins out of 14 or 15 games?

If that's not a positive trend then I'm sure even David Brent would find it hard to argue against that one.
