  1. Sadly, we are short of quality. I really enjoyed Du Plooy’s innings and Critchley again showing that he deserves to play in a better team than the perennial bridesmaids. Born into a life of sporting misery but one day I will taste victory and it will be ever so sweet due to the years of complete dross!

Also I seem to recall from my days at the Wardwick local history library that the area near the Ground was bought from the Reeves family hence Reeves Road. Their farm was Leacroft farm and so Leacroft Rd. Dairyhouse Road was where they milked the cows. His daughters were Catherine and Augusta (both streets) his son was Malcolm hence Malcolm Street. And Grayling Street is named after the farmer’s donkey! There’s probably more Reeves family connections such as Douglas Street and Olivier Street but my memory isn’t what it was

Great knowledge! Was Vulcan Street named after their cousin Spock?

  3. Really enjoyable game of cricket. I fear that our bowlers won’t be good enough to achieve anything but always good to see a win. Do you think Critchley will be with us much longer? I can see him elsewhere soon. They can stick the FA Cup, their cricket team were well beaten!

Lancashire win with 3 balls to spare. Wasn’t a bad performance really, needed more wickets.

Hudson-Prentice 1 over 2-9 is the type of strange thing that seems a regular occurrence with Godlemans captaincy ?‍♂️

We batted out 20 overs which is a miracle in itself. Didn’t expect anything up there. 2:30 kick offs is bizarre. Missed it all due to being at work.
With regards to Hudson-Prentice, I thought it was odd looking at the stats. It seems to happen a lot. Someone has a really tidy over and is often never seen again. Anyway, onwards and upwards. I noticed Madsen ret inj. Is he OK?

  5. Harry Came, he saw, he thought about doing something else for a living.

I think on paper we look exactly like we will see on the pitch. The bowling looks well short to me. And the batting. Let's hope the bar can turn pints around quite quickly as the games might not last long.

Warwickshire all out for 155. 309 to win ?

First 5 wicket haul for Cohen, hope to see him get a good run in the team now, he's been a bit in and out. Has lots of potential as a left arm quick.

    Warwickshire into the tail.

We won’t hit 200. It’s not interesting at all.

I see the seconds keep winning games and Came scored a venture at a strike rate of over 200 against Durham.

I think at this stage, if you can hold a bat the right way up then you are probably in.

12 man squad for Warwickshire. No Du Plooy or Hudson-Prentice. Reece back.

At least Dal is back in the squad ?

Mot been a great season so far has it. Maybe the blast will be more our thing.

I really liked the look of Cowley. He’s obviously lost his way but looked a very good player, great delivery, good on the ball and had a little edge to him. Would be low risk, high return. There will be loads of frees this summer who would improve us.

I thought he was excellent in that game at Pride Park, whenever that was. Really liked the look of him. Surprised to hear he has been at Hull this season. Would be worth a shout - providing he isn’t another of these players, like Nathan Tyson, who only has one good game a year which always happens to be against Derby!

  10. In answer to the thread’s question, I like many others am disappointed that we are only retaining one! Would one name constitute a list? I am hoping it’s Curtis Davies. Play a flat back one, keep it tight and try and nick one from a kick off. Got to be better and more successful than zonal marking at any rate.

Of course, but I'm not particularly proud of the fan reaction currently. The way the fanbase have been tearing strips off each other lately.

I think I just miss being in the ground at this point. I used to be proud of Derby and its fans. And after a win proud of the players. It made my heart swell. There's really nothing like live football.

And throughout this saga I've just felt passive. I love the club, it's in my blood and always will be. But I've just felt like there's nothing I can cheer for. Nothing and nobody I can be proud of. At this point my loyalty is to a club crest.

Insane to think. But I know what you're saying. We'll be back from this. It's not the first crisis this club has had and it won't be the last.

It’s a beautiful crest though isn’t it. Iconic. As bad as things are now and as polarised and divisive as fans might be, the good times will return. Admittedly we will probably be dead by then but still..

As for nothing to cheer us up or make us proud, I disagree. Curtis Davies. Let’s make him what this club represents rather than Alonso, Keogh, Pearce, Morris or Billy Caskey.

We are Derby. Super Derby. Super Rams.

I don't think there's a single thing about this football club I like at the moment. The players, the coaches, the management, the current ownership, the potential future ownership... all of it is a bitter disappointment.

I understand your sentiment but please don’t forget the fans. We ARE the football club. I remember Clough on ITV, speaking in front of fans protesting against Maxwell, saying that we would be here long after Maxwell was gone. He was right.

Maxwell, Morris, Keogh, Glenn Skivington...we have and will see them all off and will be left standing. We are Derby. We are here because we care and all the mud and poo being thrown at us from all sides can slide off as far as I am concerned because, as much as I dislike it at the moment, I am bonded to and love this football club. So Gibson, EFL, bitter Leeds fans and the twitterati can all sod off.
