  1. "Whoop", and, might I venture a second "whoop" into the bargain.
  2. A draw is the best result, 2 points dropped for each side, and takes a point out of the league. Time for us to go on a run of wins. One or two of the others will. Got to up the standards of play for that to happen.
  3. We won. Clean sheet. Happy days and move on. Drab afternoon of drab football though. They were bloody awful and for long stretches we sank to their level.
  4. Please, please, best player in his best position. Cash at centre half.
  5. "You don't seriously believe that cobblers do you? Grow up mate." To people with religious symbols or religiously mandated clothing. "You look a proper t*****" To blokes wearing the classic chinos and blue shirt combo with a pullover over their shoulders. Probably aviators on.
  6. So we're saying God's a bit of a Bamford then?
  7. S.P.Q.R. History of Rome by Mary Beard. All the opportunity in the world to be dry and heavy, but she brings the topic alive.
  8. Anyone in this league can lose at Barnsley. Charlton were well overdue and have more in the squad than they've shown. Port Vale at home? 3 points is the only acceptable outcome. Stringing half a dozen passes together would be nice, but 3 points is non-negotiable.
  9. Anyone know how their EFL FFP performance would stack up when they go down? Do they just get a pass on all the money they spent to get up in the first place?
  10. Oh. My. God. They hadn't won in ages, we're second and at home...why not attack them? Keep the best centre half in the league at centre half? An appalling game of league one thud and blunder football, refereed weakly, and gifted by grotesque errors. Repeat of Saturday in many regards. Bradley had two goes at clearing before he got roasted for the equaliser, and he nearly got caught in possession a few times. Not getting into the Warne thing, but I don't think I can commit to 23 more turgid episodes of that sort if we don't get out this time. When's the last time we were properly entertained? Oxford away? At home? Genuinely can't recall. Cash MoM, Smith, Nyambe and Adams had a pop. There weren't many more could claim to have earnt their wages. Very, very, very pissed off.
  11. Oh yeah...thanks to others for tips. Das Boot Peaky Blinders Sherlock. Sub out the sublime Chernobyl because Bob 'Rick Parry' Badger told us off for a simple musunderstanding over season quantity amortisation rules. Pah. I'm only up to 8 now.
  12. Don't watch much telly...but I'll see how I get on... Chernobyl Breaking Bad This Life (that one dates me, I guess) The West Wing The English Our Friends in the North ...aaand I've run out of ideas!
  13. Well, bugger. A poor game between two sides who barely mustered an attractive passage of play between them. Two soft goals from corners and a decent strike from a bloke given acres of space and all the time in the world to pick his spot. A lot of huff and puff from us but so many flunked passes and moves stillborn through a lack of care. Bolton did us a favour. Please, please let's get back to 433 on Tuesday.
  14. '"...I contain multitudes." I wouldn't ban David Icke, his views are so mad that they defeat themselves in all but the most mad company.
  15. I think the attachment to our own youngsters is understandable, but probably taints our view a bit. If we had been looking to bring in a conference bench warmer in Jan, there would have been little enthusiasm. Let the lad develope with no pressure this season and come back with a better idea of where he needs to be this summer.
  16. Fair cop, I stand corrected. He was indeed banned from Holland to avoid him publicly stating at a far right rally that covid was Jewish conspiracy spread through the 5G network. Seems perfectly reasonable to say he's a fruitloop though, surely?
  17. Trevor Christie, cool as custard... Mods...chuck all these in a GR appreciation thread. The most wonderful radio presence.
  18. Icke isn't banned from speaking, he's just turned into the textbook definition of a tinfoil hat wearing fruit loop, so even the conspiracy theorists raise an eyebrow at him.
