archram reacted to Ellafella in Arthur Cox receives Lifetime Achievement Award
I've had the real pleasure of meeting Arthur on several occasions. He is an absolute first rate Gentleman. He told me some fabulous anecdotes about the time he worked for Robert Maxwell but point blankly refused to be in any way indiscrete; {Maxwell used to pay Arthur bonuses in the form of dozens of pairs of gentleman's socks from Harrods!}. I think Derby County for once were privileged to have had Arthur as manager {the players all referred to him as the Sarjeant Major} and I feel privileged and honoured to have met him. He always give people his time and shows people total respect. A true living legend. Spoke about his Derby players as if they were his own sons and visibly shed a tear when we talked about Rob Hindmarch. A wonderful man and true Derby County hero.

Yes, I have to log in on every visit to the site, whether on phone, tablet or PC. I hope they introduce a stay logged in option as it's a bit of a drag.

Guten tag! GCSE German wasn't a complete waste.
Will be interesting to see the views from abroad during and after the game, for years this forum has been reduced to rants and raves over games which have been seen over the radio.
That's not to knock Ed Dawes and Ramage, we all see football through our own eyes and have differing views on what we saw. So for a forum this is great as we have a number of foreign fans on this forum.
Whilst I'm here I'd like to issue another reminder to all UK users, ANY posts talking about ways to get around the UK restrictions will be removed. It's a complete no go area, please and thank you.

archram reacted to A Ram for All Seasons in RamsTV Feedback
Just signed up from South West Germany, having grown up literally in the shadow of the old Baseball Ground.
I usually only manage to get to 3 - 4 games a season, plus the Kaiserslautern and Karlsruhe pre-season friendlies and the Sky games, so this will make a big difference.
After lurking for many years as a guest, I have also decided to sign up for this forum, as I will be able to talk about football that I have actually seen.

archram reacted to Kinder in How GOOD is your Rams' Mug?
I haven't posted pics on here before so I hope this works.
i inherited this mug from my dear old dad, who inherited it from his parents. It's probably the best thing I own!

Not at all, the guy just reminded me of Mel that's all so I call it my Derby mug. Some will say I'm the mug but they've never tried the sausages.
Never thought I'd ever see a cup older than Forest's!

The unbelievable support bit is having volunteers there to put them out in their own time and having enough fans there on matchdays to wave them!!

archram reacted to ollycutts1982 in January Transfer Suggestion Thread
The plan for Jan should be -
Sign loads and loads of players without signing too many
Sign only vastly experienced players but with an emphasis on youth
Sign players that suit the new managers system but keep playing the system we have for the last few years
Boo every new signing in order to ensure that their confidence levels are at a maximum.
Complain the squad is too big but sign players who won't improve our squad.
Complain that we have fell short the last few years and complain when something is done to try and change it.
I think I've covered the ideal scenario for Jan. Mel please implement the thoughts of the forum.
