    Nowt unusual about Saturday 3 p.m. KO's.
Saturday morning was part of the working 'week'. So games were scheduled to KO when workers weren't working.

Absolute hero. Legend gets thrown around a lot these days but that day he signed a waiver to be on the bench, to then put that performance in, he’s a legend in my eyes.

A true professional through the darkest times of DCFC. Lovely that the video he posted started in a derby shirt and finished in one. A true ram 🐏

Really? Wow, you’ve kept that opinion close to your chest. I for one am shocked that you don’t think he’s very good and we should get shot. Perhaps you should post the same opinion multiple times on different threads so that the message can be spread a bit wider. People need to know your considered opinion more widely.

Totally agree, actually find it refreshing how smart we are now in the window. Years ago to speed things up by a few days we’d have thrown stupid cash at both player and club to get a player in. We also would probably then move onto a new target if target one would take a few weeks longer because we had the money to just throw at plan B.

If our coaches and recruitment believe there is a chance at getting the number one option what odds does waiting a week or two to get them really make. Also if we were to sign a player next week would they start for us next Friday? Probably not so it’s not that big of a deal. Blackburn have only signed a striker from the Belgian league, a 28 year old Japanese 10 and got 59 year old McFadzean back to play centre back. All there deals happening over the last few days so in relative terms to some teams were ahead of the group.

People keep saying we are in bad shape as we enter the season , well keeping an eye out on the rest of the Champ, Blackburn look set to lose their top scorer and talisman Scmodics, Plymouth on verge of losing Whittaker , Leeds are losing their better players , a few set to leave Norwich etc , all the Champ sides seem to be scrambling around for signings and having poor results in friendlies, don’t know why so many are writing off our season already

This is what baffles me, they won't show 3pm games because of effects on match day attendance but will move fixtures to daft days and times that have more of an effect on attendance, make it make sense.

As Derby fans, we do want him to be a success, right?
Sometimes on here it’s hard to say.
One goal and he might become a hero. Some players need the love of the crowd. He’s not getting that here so far.

418 minutes of competitive football for us so far, with him joining when injured, and then having a few niggles whilst getting used to Warne's intensity. We haven't lost a single game he's started, including 85 minutes against Portsmouth. It's too soon to write him off.

Feeling increasingly out of kilter with some fans on here. I thought last night's game was a decent run out between two fair sides. Lots of errors, but some good football at times too and a big step forward from the last couple of games, despite a sloppy defensive set that saw us conceding too many soft goals.
The 3 standouts for me were Ozoh, who looks a seriously talented lad to me and can be huge for us this season. Goudmijn looks pure class and if the numbers quoted are correct, he's an absolute steal at the price paid. Lastly, Yates looks certain to score goals to my eye, especially with better service and a tad more luck.
The negatives for me were mainly seen among our typically more consistent players and our defence specifically, who still looked heavy legged to me last night. Matt Hamshaw did warn us that it might be up to 10 days before some found their legs coming back to them and whilst most looked a deal sharper than of late, a few did not.
Much still to work on then, but I actually enjoyed the game as a spectacle, despite it being somewhat error-strewn and I'd wager we'll see another step up against Real Valladolid on Saturday, who are levels above the sides we've faced this pre-season and will provide a severe test for our lads. With another month of the window still remaining, I'd imagine we'll also see a rather different and significantly stronger starting 11 down the line, but we may need to accept that with so many ins and outs, we may need a little time to settle.

I respect that there will be a lot of told ya so's and I knew it's all alongs if we start the season poorly, but I would just like to take this moment to remind everyone that preseason performances, whether that of the team or any individual, have never - at any point in history - had any real bearing on the performance of the team in competitive games.
I, and I bet a lot of you, have attended many a preseason in Derbys history; and remember all the losses against lower league sides prior to great seasons, and all the wins/draws against premier League/La Liga sides prior to really crap seasons, just as well as I do.
We all enjoy being emotional and reactive, especially online, but you shouldn't let preseason suffocate any optimism you might've had.

Warne doesn't have a great track record in the Championship is such a lazy narrative.
I can't be arsed to repeat myself, but the long-and-short of it:
Rotherham's highest wage bill under Paul Warne in the Championship was roughly £10m less as a club than ourselves in our first year in League One post-administration. Rotherham had a wage bill 45% of our own and we barely had a squad.
He was competing against teams with double, commonly triple/quadruple, the budget he was afforded. When he has been afforded a competitive budget in respect to his peers - he's achieved every single season that he's been a football manager.
We will provide him with a competitive budget this season, his record actually shows that he has a proven track record of achieving expectation.

As daft as it may sound: I was reasonably pleased with the performance from what I saw - although I started watching soon after Hourihane's goal admittedly. I thought we played some really nice football in parts and you could see what the new players bring to the team.
The last 30 minutes was a mess, compounded with Blackett-Taylor going off injured and us playing with 10 men. I'm no expert, but surely that's not advisable for a preseason friendly? We essentially stopped playing at that point to avoid any further injury.
My only concern, really, is that we seemingly have had a very disruptive preseason in terms of games. I really think we need to use Saturday's game as test-run for our first game of the season, we need players to try and finish the 90 minutes (or as close as) but I fear that Adams and Cashin who finished today's game looked dead on their feet towards the end of the match.
I'm not going to comment too much on Vickers - he's had an absolute shocker but I hope it's quickly forgotten.
We were winning when wholesale changes were made and we were winning at the point Blackett-Taylor went off injured. I fear if people just focus on the result there is a lot of context missed with this game.

We looked good until making a massive raft of subs and being at a one man disadvantage for a while. Promising stuff going forward but shaky at the back - particularly in goal.
I’d much rather it be that way around at this stage - we had the best defence in the league last year on every metric, so you’d hope we’ll firm the defence up before the real football starts. And there’s a new keeper joining.

I’ve been more concerned about our ability to put the ball in the goal ahead of this season, but tonight calmed those concerns somewhat. Yates, Jackson and NML all linking up well.

Good run out for the lads and lots of good stuff played out there.
The wholesale changes altered it all and going down to 10 men made it more difficult.
To be fair we could have scored 4 more there which was encouraging.
    It's a build up game,nothing more.

archram reacted to Caerphilly Ram in Jacob Widell Zetterstrom - SIGNED, FINALLY - 3yr deal
    We interrupt the river based puns to share another loosely translated Swedish news article;
Jacob Widell Zetterström, 26, has been in England to meet Derby County.
Now it is clear that all the details for a transition are in place. “JWZ” will sign The Championship newcomer.
The transfer will be official shortly and even if Djurgården IF does not get what has been the goal, the money is a little bigger than previously known.
According to my information, a deposit to Djurgården's account of around 22 million kroner in basic sum, and another around 5-6 million kroner in bonuses is waiting in the short term.
A maximum sum of around 28 million is a similar level to Hammarby with Oliver Dovin and Coventry.
Djurgården's goal with sales was originally around SEK 35 million.
The replacement can now be the previously mentioned Jacob Rinne, despite FD's information that he snubbed a first offer.
Jämte Rinne, I also have information that Brommapojkarna's Filip Sidklev has been an option - but that Dif is now looking at other names in addition to Rinne's.
Jacob Widell Zetterström was brought up in IFK Lidingö and joined Djurgården at the beginning of 2019. The goalkeeper has made 113 competitive matches for the Blue Stripes.
At Derby County, he will compete with, among others, the Arsenal-raised goalkeeper Josh Vickers.

I won't be giving up my RamsTV subscription as long as they exist. I'll still fly over for 8 or so games a season. That's about as far as my pension allows, financially. DTID.
