    If Rooney walks.

Even though I don't want him at the club, the fact he is still here indicates things are progressing on the takeover front & that the news on the penalty (the severity of which I'm certain the club will be aware of) isn't as bad as first feared.

He probably will walk, he's just not in a massive rush and enjoying the Euros. Why do anything prematurely ?

But Frank also seemed to have his issues with Jack.He scored two goals v Leeds in the semi's then left him out of the Play off final.

So? Marriott isn't perfect and seems to have the odd issue.. in the reverse case we gave more of a chance to Ibe and Duncan. Bit of a jump based on whatever issue Frank had to then loan him to a rival when he had scored our only goal in open play and we had no striker alternative. Dangerous lunacy.

Lol. He came back to get fit and was let go back on loan by Rooney. He's played loads for the Wendies and scored double figures for them. Edit: bits of this ain't true.

He needs consistency, changing club isn't going to help.

What went wrong behind the scenes I've no idea but I want him back in the summer.

I've a totally unfounded hunch that Rooney just didn't like him and persuaded Cocu to let him go.

They rated him even higher around here, had a unbelievable goals to games ratio, just one of them things, that’s football pal.

Yep, decisions like going to a model of 0 strikers, the super league.. plenty of batshit craziness!

They bought him to replace a bloke who’d scored 33 goals in 56 appearances, can’t think of his name now, little stocky bloke, tattoos, goaty beard.

...........just goes to show,ya win some ya lose some.?

Just gonna say, don't care what anyone says.. I rate Marriott. Just madness to send him away, after scoring our only open goal for quite a stretch in the early season, when we had no strikers as back up. Even if you thought he was tosh, surely its better to kept him around in case he reached some of his past form.

On that one decision of sheer stupidity, going from one striker to 0 fit strikers.. we arguably deserve to go down.

And yet they are still worse than us.?

Because of covid yadda yadda. Imagine if we stayed up because of shef getting a points deduction and rov having a covid issue (I'm sure many have made this point on the forum, but still, it would be like winning the lottery in terms of dumb luck)

Some may say Knight and Bird still play but think these two are competent in our own third and can play in a shape. Think Sibley is more a luxury player for when we are in form. Get further away from the drop zone and we will see more of young Louis.

How is Sibley a luxury over Waghorn.. it's a necessity to threaten the opposition and get goals, otherwise it's just inbound traffic to Bird and co to defend.
