  1. Josh Taylor v Ohara Davis is made.

This fight could have been for world titles in a 2 years. Both really exciting fighters. Strong, clever, aggressive fighters.

Ohara makes all his fights by being a twit on Twitter.

I'd be surprised if the first meeting will be the last. It's on Channel 5 too I think. Should grab more boxing popularity if these two perform as they have so far

  2. Sad to see Brook lose but Groves with a brilliant win sort of makes up for it.

Really thought Brook would prove too strong. Everyone was saying Spence is one of the best body punchers in boxing so maybe that body work made Brook tired?

And the eye... would he have stopped if the Golovkin fight hadn't happened? Has that put fear into him?

I'm not really interested in the Khan fight. I don't find Khan interesting. He's got fast hands for fancy looking combos but I don't think he has anywhere near the power or defence to trouble the elite bunch. And Brook's appeal would have taken a drop now. Fair or not he's not lost 2 in a row with quitting. Sounds very harsh but it will now put a big question mark over his mental strength. All the best to him. Not a massive fan of Brook but unlike some boxing fans I understand that this isn't WWE. Nobody in the crowd has to worry about Brook for the 40-50 years after he retires.

Disappointed with Dave Allen too. Nice lad but he's going to end up looking like a comedy sideshow when he's fighting twice in a week, stuffing socks down his pants and then putting in performances like last night. Hearn won't look after him if he doesn't look after himself. Hearn will put him on shows to be a clown if he acts like a clown.

He's only insulted Wilder from what I can see

Yeah and he probably had a point but he's hardly beat elites himself. But did you see the interview? You need a paracetamol to get through it all.

I don't really hate him tbh. Think he's just a bit of a dimwit.

Has he rearranged the Parker fight yet?

That Joseph Parker hasn't really upped his game since before the Takam fight. Do you think Hughie could beat him?

    why hughie?

I find him impossible to listen to. He's not the brightest and when he starts insulting other fighters opponents...

I find it hard to believe a skin condition held him back as much as he claimed.

Sounds like he is fighting Conor McGregor. McGregors signed his part.

Will probably be the easiest money he'll add to his fortune and the most.

There's a reason freestyle footballers aren't on professional pitches. There's a reason McGregor isn't in a boxing ring.

It's crazy there's this much interest. I like McGregor and appreciate he's hard as nails. But this isn't street fighting against Nate Diaz or any other UFC fighter. His opponents may have black belts in Kung Fu but none of them have spent their entire lives working on head movement, balance, footwork, ring craft and punching in a boxing ring. Now McGregor is going up against a guy isn't just a qualified boxer. He's elite! He's never lost to another elite.

Mayweather will be even more unbearable during and after this.

  6. God, Mayweather is a cock. You'd think he's active with how much talking he does about himself when his fighters are out.

I'd like to see him and Billy Joe Saunders have a fight. Under water. With no breathing apparatus. For 12 rounds. Hughie Fury to referee

The scoring from judges has become super hypocritical recently.

Floyd Mayweather won so many wide UD by just ducking, diving and countering. Now you see fighters similarly fight on the back foot and get punished for not being aggressive enough.

    Where is the consistency?

It's consistent tbf. The fighter that's worth more and can be part of the bigger shows will consistently get the nod.

I think back to that Ricky Burns win. It's insulting that the judges can give that decision and we all have to accept it. It was an embarrassing daylight robbery against Relikh

Even sometimes when it's tight and you don't agree you can accept it. Then the scores come out and it's like 9-3 on rounds!!

  8. Maybe I need to watch it again. Some media think he won it in the early fight so maybe I'm letting the second half stick in memory more. But I couldn't give Warrington 6 rounds never mind a win.

    If anyone is arsed...

  9. We're getting some serious dodgy decisions in the UK. Warrington didn't beat Martinez. I wanted him to but he didn't. How can anyone say he did?

There was Ricky Burns in the fight before last and then there was another one.

Boxing is back on the radar. It just got a 90,000 crowd. Pay per View numbers are massive. If Mayweather v McGregor goes ahead or Golovkin v Alvarez then those numbers will be insane

There are amazing fights still to be made involving UK fighters.

And some idiots would have boxing stuffed back in the "It's all corruption and politics" box and thrown back in the shed.

Because if you come to the UK and let it go to points then you get robbed.

So glad that Joshua V Klitschko didn't go to points. They'd have given a draw if Klitschko had won the last round. If Joshua had won it they'd give it him. Whoever comes up with this **** are just greedy.

It's like a referee awarding penalties to Man United over Bournemouth from out of nothing because United have more viewing figures

  10. Eggington won last night. I like Sam Eggington. He's like Quigg in the way he just has a tear up. By the time he's retired he's going to look like a monster.

Unfortunately his weight category is the strongest in boxing. I think a world title will be a step too far

  11. I know it's the fight everyone wants but it possibly wouldn't be as good as Saturday. Fury wouldn't engage. He's the bigger man, reach advantage, probably a better boxer.... Joshua would have to try and get him to trade

It was like a movie, rang every emotion out of me, just about caught up today!

I have a feeling AJ will have a career like LL, he will get beat once or twice, however will destroy them in the rematch's.

I'm sure he'd take that. What a great fighter Lewis was. His match with Vitali Klitschko is brilliant.

I remember Lewis getting knocked out by Rahman. Weird moment. Like "no...... no..... Surely not.... what the?..... no..."

I think the rematch was in Africa? Lewis did the job in a couple of rounds.

  13. I'd say Joshua's biggest win before last night was Molina. Molina is in the pack behind the elite. He's been in with some good fighters and given a good account of himself.

Joshua just made him look awful by blasting through him. And Molina looked scared. First time in his career he's gone out like that.

How was Charles Martin injured before the fight anyway?

Joshua fought some respectable opponents at the level of his career. He's fought experienced guys, undefeated promising guys. He fought Johnson who has never been stopped. Joshua stopped him. Gary Cornish was expected to test Joshua more than he did.

Like I said, go have a look at other CV's. Show me someone, past or present, that has fought the equivalent of Klitschko inside 19 fights and done what Joshua did. Show me someone who has 3 world titles inside 19 fights.

If he was a footballer called Gonzalez Incrediblo then he'd be worth £60m.

There's hype around him because nobody knows his limit. He's entertaining. He goes in there to engage. He's an Olympic gold medalist.

He can literally do nothing more than he's done.

Who's Joseph Parker, Deontay Wilder's, Wlad Klitschko's, David Haye's biggest fight in there first 19?

    Mike Tyson?

He is the World Champion. He has retained the IBF title 3 times. He is unbeaten. He holds 3 world title belts.

    Inside 19 fights too!!

Compare that with who you like. Who has taken on the equivalent of Wlad inside 19 fights and knocked him down 3 times and knocked him out?

What more do people want from him.

Anybody who's seen much of Wlad will admit that last night was a good version of the legend. That's was no old man. Maybe he wasn't at his peak but the beauty is.... Neither is our British pride Anthony Joshua!!

I had it bang square after 10, my buddy had Klitscko up by a round. I think Josh had the momentum though and I felt he'd nick it in the last two rounds. Would have been controversial though. Glad it got done inside the distance.

I think perhaps it would have ended in a draw. Maybe even if Klitschko had snuck another round.

Everyone in boxing benefits from a rematch rather than a Wlad win.

It's not good but that's what boxing is like isn't it?

What a gripping and entertaining fight.

Until the last round, I had Klitschko winning the fight. He showed his experience and outfoxed and outclassed Joshua for the majority of the fight.

What a chin Klitschko has. How he took some of the shots Joshua landed, I'll never know. That uppercut in the 11th was murderous! All in all, Joshua's power was the difference maker tonight.

Joshua showed great heart and determination to battle back. It really looked like he had cooked his goose with the shots that led to Klitschko going down in the 5th. Klitschko took over after that and how.

It was the acid test for Joshua, one he passed, but it's also fair to say Klitschko exposed some major holes in his game and made him look very beatable.

Fortunately for Joshua, he simply isn't going to face anyone of the same calibre from here on in.

I don't think any fighter comes forward like Wlad does but comes forward with a defence.

That foot that he puts there. So to land you have to go over the top of it. If he catches you with your weight on the front foot with a counter punch...

Then that jab. Constantly poking at you. Moving you.

Then when you land something to move that foot back as soon as you step forward to capitalise then Wlad steps in and smothers your shots.

Nobody is such a complete fighter as that.

That foot and jab got him through 10 years of opponents.

Didn't understand why they boo'd Hearn...can anyone explain?

    I know!

If it's about undercards then take a look at the rivals in America.

If it's about main events.. well, Haye v Bellew and AJ v Wlad were well worth  £20 after what you get for  £20 in football!

He's a brilliant boxer and most importantly a fantastic bloke but I'd like to see him take a fight against the real top heavyweight. Klitschko is a legend and brought himself into brilliant shape for tonight but I don't consider him as one of the best anymore. The heavyweight division is certainly looking a lot more exciting now with joshua, wilder, Parker and Tyson fury to soon come back. Wilder's right though. Having a single title would make the division even more exciting.

Screw titles. It's names on the record that make the fighter

Parker struggled with Takam and Ruiz. Wilder has power but rocked by Molina, down on points to Szpilka and outclassed by Washington.

People will keep moving the target for Joshua. Apply the same logic to other fighters and they don't stand up so well.

Even the highly rated Luis Ortiz. Watching him struggle with Malik Scott makes me think he'd struggle with Fury. Watching him punch Dave Allen makes him look less scary.

Joshua's record holds up against anyone.

Not that I'm saying the others aren't a threat. Just that haters will struggle to apply anything that can't be turned on any fighter now.

If that Klitschko had fought Deontay Wilder based on any of the Americans last 3 outings then Wlad would have won tonight.

  20. Wlad didn't get knocked down or out either

And Fury was 27 or 26 fights in.

Not that Fury didn't achieve something amazing. He did. But all those saying that he didn't get hit? No, he didn't land any hurtful shots either.

I understand Joshua's defence isn't the greatest but how many boxers are going to come better than Wlad?

That front foot invading your space. To hit him he makes you lean over it and then he's got you.  That jab constantly coming. Then he uses that same hand to move you. His defence and attack are all in one.

And he got knocked down 3 times and out.

Joshua is a superb counter puncher. Wlad managed to negate that but I don't believe many others could.

Fury could. But has he got anything to test Joshua's defence

Wilder? Parker? Wilder isn't a great boxer. He was getting picked apart by Washington. Rocked by Molina and losing to Szpilka.

Parker... hmm. Accurate but doesn't seem on Joshua's level.

Basically even with his questionable defence he still has something to seriously threaten the others.

Landing on Fury or getting him to engage would be a problem.

But he's still under 20 fights.

What scalp did Tyson or Lewis take inside 20 fights. He has to start somewhere. And he's started bloody well!!
