  1. Rooting for Liam Smith this weekend. Seems a sound guy. And Canelo deserves a spanking for calling out Golovkin and then blatantly running away.

Can't see it happening. But it would be great!!

McDonalds drive throughs. Who decided it would be a good idea to put the menu board AFTER the talk box?

"Hi sir, welcome to McDonalds - can I take your order?"

"Err, hello. Can you just give me 2 minutes whilst I now look at the menu that has only just come into view as there wasn't one before anywhere whilst I was queuing"

    Brains in their arse.

    Yessaaaiii!!

    It's madness, brother!!

  3. Yeah I can't see how they had Brook ahead. Brook certainly won round 2 and 3 was pretty close imo.

Maybe the judges expected Brook to struggle to land shots and somehow were impressed?

Even though Golovkin is always there to be hit.

Golovkin was too eager to knock Brook out. When he fought Dominic Wade he toyed with him. He controlled the fight.

I don't think he controlled Brook. It was a wild brawl in which Golovkin was just relentless and Brook was never going to stop him.

Carl Froch is a massive ****. Put your gloves on then. I mean what frustrates me is that I know I could beat Golovkin too but unfortunately i'll never prove it either.... knob.

Hope BJS is next. I'll be a massive Golovkin fan in that fight. Can't stand that guy.

  4. Golovkin was a bit light at the weigh in. Not usually this light.

Rumours that he's jet lagged and/or ill.

Think its all just to get more excitement around the possibility of Brook pulling off an upset. But the weight is a bit odd.

But then he's fighting a welterweight. A heavy welter or even a suitable light middle. But still not a middleweight. So he could just be going with a different approach.

Brook is still going to feel power like never before. That's a test that Sky haven't mentioned.

  5. Great post.

Brook has deserved big fights and he's really struggled to sell himself.

Really excited for it. It's been sold really well. The hype has been done extremely well.

And Eubank Jnr should be telling his Dad to feck off back to the 90's for messing this up.

    You buying the fight @Alpha?

I would love to see Special K win, but not sure I can justify the cost after 2 ppv already this year with Joshua, seeing as I'll miss most of the undercard while at footy.

Virgin bill is getting stupid now!

I have one of those firesticks with Kodi on. It probably puts me up there with Al Capone.

    I recommend them, revel

Thing is the GGG V Brook will be on YouTube by Sunday dinner at least.

I payed for a Joshua one before and it was on YouTube by 8am Sunday.

  7. Price v Parker for a shot at AJ is apparently close according to Hearn.

Be a decent fight. Think Joseph Parker's KO record is a bit flattering. I don't think he looks to have amazing power. Awesome accuracy though. I know Takam is tough but Parker was landing some good shots but he didn't rock Takam. Watched some of his other fights and it's hard to tell because he's not really fought anyone too hot. Price gets a lot of stick but he's alright.

This Saturday though... really hoping for a blockbuster. You can always hit Golovkin because he will walk through 2 to give 1. So I reckon you'll be able to tell early how it's going to go. If Golovkin feels Brook's power and keeps coming I think it will just be a matter of time. He's relentless. If Golovkin doesn't like being hit then it could go on to be a great punch up.

They're trying to get Pulev for Joshua but Hearn says Pulev doesn't seem to want it. Stiverne will go for Povetkin. Who they gonna fight?? They need a couple of decent tests because they want a big one in the summer in 2 fights time.

In local news Dave Ryan is set to head to Scotland to fight a lad that they have huuuuuge hopes for. Josh Taylor has been backed by some big names.

Fury v Wlad is back on.

Billy Joe Saunders is still a gobshite who's going to defend his world title on mandatory only. Knob.

  8. Golovkin v Brook this weekend.

Going for Golovkin to win by KO.  Round 7. Don't think Brook will have much joy.

In other news the WBA is keen on making Haye and Eubank Jnr champions. Wants Haye to fight anything that can enter a ring to make him #1 contender. And wants Eubank Jnr to enter a mini tournament.  Probably feel like they're missing out on the big rivalries and big names a bit. Boxing politics is a bit *****.

It's Smith v Canelo next week too. Be better than the Khan fight

Remember Fury and Billy Joe Saunders? They used to be boxers...

    Early early days lol.

Well yeah, I don't think anyone has criticised performances that haven't happened yet.

Just more the fact we can't get out our own half without a hoof currently and things don't look to be improving. We have gone backwards. That's it. Nothing about the future.

It was good and now it's not. It's boring. It used to be quite fun to watch

Thorne and Wiemann injured at the moment.

Hopefully will improve us on their return.

Alpha all teams have injuries .

    Shouldnt be an excuse.

Where were Derby before we added Martin and Omar and to Thorne and Eustace? And afterwards?

    19 minutes ago, curtains said:

Vydra and Wilson will score goals .

    Then what we you say.

Chris Martin has scored more than both of them put together. I quite like Vydra but he won't score many with the service we currently attempt to provide. Unless most of his goals are from 40 yards?

But if they do play well and score then i'd say they played well and scored...

My point is rose tinted glasses as regards McClaren days at Derby.

Yes the  first season was good up to Wembley .

After that Derby were distinctly average with expensive loans such as Lingard etc Top 3 for most the season until injuries (read the thread? Is top 3 average?

This season we are in transition with Pearson and Powell searching  for their  best team and performances . Transition to what? It's been really poor so far which is why people are saying "it's been poor"

5 games have been tough against Brighton and Villa at home both draws but what would we expect I'd say that's what we would expect. Preston, Barnsley, Burton, Grimsby and Carlisle sound alright to me. And Villa aren't too hot. They were smashed down from the PL easily and have been little better than us so far. We aren't even creating chances

Away games against  newly promoted teams in Burton and Barnsley which we lost not so good but we did beat Preston away which was welcome.

Beat Grimsby and Carlisle in the Cup better than previous seasons.  We were knocked out the FA Cup with 10 men v Reading after we got caught on the counter, We lost 2 cup games to Chelsea and 1 to Man United. Clement lost to Pompey last season in r1.

I think we are just about on track with new signings yet to  have an impact in Wilson and Vydra.

Hopefully more signings to come to improve the team tomorrow.

    Wristslashers rule

Where were they pre season and after Pearson was appointed

Where were what? The criticism of all the recruitment?

Been posts about that since Bent and Weimann joined

Or where was the criticism of Pearson? I seen a few say they weren't keen on him. But are you asking for people to criticise his tactics and selections before we've seen the team?

Shall we all criticise The Rams performances in January 2020?

  13. Much needed post @sage

Too easily people are saying "433 didn't work" and "players are bottlers" but so much more went on this season.

Omar was alright but he was a total hot head. So eager to press and chase (which is what gets fans cheering because they're stupid) that he too often left us exposed. And like you say, Cyrus is crazy. He's either a really crap good player or a really good crap player. He's so up and down that I can't decide if I rate him or hate him.

That goal v Forest was disgusting. More so than the first Brum goal.

A Grant goal kick. Hoofed long to Bent. And as soon as the ball flies over the halfway line 6 players are gone. Can't remember who won the header for Forest but it put 6 players out the game. Then Omar committed suicide. 1 header from their own half put Forest on through on goal.

I loved how many players Mac used to get beyond the ball. But this was just poor decision making. But there's been little to no danger of it happening since... Or scoring much.

Many asked for a Plan B. But the problem is one we're seeing now. We've got so many options but very little depth to cover any specific system.

McClaren was very unlucky to lose all 3 DM's. Eustace and Thorne just knew that role. They took so much ***** work off the other 2 midfielders.

The other mistake Mac made was the tinkering of the defence.

We'd already lost Thorne, Eustace, Martin. So our spine had taken a blow. Then he seemed to set about systematically destroying confidence.

By tinkering with the defence we started to see the worst of Forsyth. Cyrus had broken completely. Then Whitbread, Shotton and Buxton couldn't get settled. Kept getting traded all over the place. And Keogh never knew who his partners would be. He even appeared at RB himself

Then to kick a team that's down we had all the speculation and panic around Newcastle.

The lessons to learn from this season were blatant. And I wish Mac had been here longer to show if he can learn. I wish we'd spent £25m on just a Thorne and Martin with a good defender thrown in. Maybe loan a winger because Mac was really good with wingers. He didn't like them to play 90mins and if we had what he called "a full back game" then he gave himself all kinds of options. Dawkins was a great slowly slowly catchy monkey alternative for building play. Ward and Russell very much for exploding play. Ibe for ridiculous ability to go through defenders with the ball. Far more direct than anyone else. No going around them. Through them!! He was improving too.

So much to take from this season. So much to build on

I was online with a mate on Diablo 3...I was heard talking about some legendary pants I found. I couldn't explain my excitement very well.

They don't understand what we go through mate. How many times have we saved the world? Sometimes the galaxy?

I have played a little, but it was quite a while ago on one of the earlier builds. I think it's a great survival game. I can't play too much though because I'm scared of zombies, even isometric ones.

A good graphic overhaul coming up.

They added a nutrition system but still no vehicles. It's so slow developing.

    Well. That sounds excellent.

    I know right!

My missus soooo doesn't get it. I think she's a secret Warden. I'm a Colonial you see. The look of disgust on her face I wouldn't be surprised if she'd spent all night building that factory base while I was at work.

    The Colonials need YOU

How do you know if you're not playing it?.....

Today I build a network of foxholes around Hamlet and main base and lead a team of 6 to assault the factory at f15. We fought our way through them and found a weak spot in their defences. Got onto factory roof and looked over their whole camp. Called for mortars but nobody could reach me. So I started picking them off one by one until they dropped mortars on me.

That's my life mate. Standard day.

What did you do? Wash pots?

I've been playing a lot of Prison Architect. It's a really neat, well done private prison simulator. You can construct anything from a Swedish style holiday camp/reform centre to a hellish death trap. I just executed my first death row inmate last night. Turns out he was innocent, but because I'd followed all the regulations I still got my 10k. That's justice!

Always been tempted but never played. Probably will now then.

Have you ever played Project Zomboid? Or not your thing?

That's that weird isometric defense building third person shooter, right?

    Yeah, and I love it!!

No knobbers on it so far. People actually work together. Really good.
