Totally agree. It was a great win the overall scheme of things…. We just needed the win no matter how we did it after the disappointment of the Posh game. The lads did well.
 
Pleasantly surprised too, as to how well the senior players had recovered fitness-wise after the hectic Xmas period 👍

Stockley was Bradley’s to mark- he just wasn’t close enough to him- Cashin may have been in open space but Stockley wasn’t his responsibility in that situation… I’m confident that if we had been playing two in the centre Cash would have tried to pick him up..symptomatic in my view of how the three at the back with Bradley in the centre brings confusion…
 
….:the modern World I guess of the cancel culture….but can never understand or accept someone wanting to deny someone else their opinion, whether it’s a criticism or not…. It makes them no less of a fan…
We all want the team to play at its best- even PW says that after a good win he still wants a better performance..

Exactly right. Just look at the Portsmouth result a couple hours later, another team fighting for promotion away to a side in the bottom 4, except they lost. These games can look easier on paper, but these are exactly the games we have slipped up in in previous promotion battles over the years.
I don't think we played that well, but in a weird way, I don't think we "tried" to. We have a busy schedule, players will get tired. I think Warne is looking to get us to do enough to win, but not exert too much energy needlessly. I think that showed after they got their goal, because we got control of the game straight away and opened up another 2-goal advantage, after being pretty poor and being under pressure from them for 15-20 minutes before that.
It's risky, because the tide could have turned and Fleetwood could've gone on to get a point, but I think if they didn't get that goal, we wouldn't have gone out to grab the third because it wasn't necessary.
It might not be the prettiest, but it's effective and getting results and that's the most important thing right now.

Must admit was quietly a bit nervous about this game, not because of the starting line up, but because this is the type of team and situation ( bottom of the league, new manager) that we have come unstuck against previously, so having won this one feels like a bit of a statement. Thought Wilson had a brilliant first half especially, Collins worked so hard as usual, and Bird also good after getting, in my opinion, some undeserved stick on here. Onwards we go!

I’m looking at his displays and how it also seems to affect those around him. Yes, a win is a win…..but how many games has he played in when we have won comfortably…….. his appalling marking today for their goal a case in point …he just seems so ‘off’…..

A win despite…… he’s a disaster. 

Hate to say it but chaos seems to reign defensively whenever Bradley plays. We were told heading etc was his strength and with his height it should be…. But he’s useless in the air.
Yes…. Cue the ‘it’s early yet- he may come good’ comments- but to me he looks like a disastrous acquisition and a massive waste of money (wages-wise)..

Posh fans all say the same….he’s a wing back not a traditional right back … he can’t defend…. He’s not a good tackler and constantly mistimes challenges - reminds me of Sibley in that regard…
All the Posh say he had a habit of giving away penalties..

TJJ certainly has talent but with this window being so important and with funds limited, he’s too much of a risk. He hasn’t played 60 mins in a game with us yet and his injury record really does have him down as ‘fragile’ or at worst a ‘sick note’.
Too risky/ let’s look at other alternatives.

I’m amazed how folk are almost ignoring Bolton in this… they are strong and quietly going about their business. Decent squad too.

It’s been a good rub and the two away wins were superb and vital….
BUT, to fair we never really turned up today…..their quick movement and transition through midfield once again highlights our lack of pace and grit in that area and where we need to strengthen- Fornah been a big disappointment in that area/respect in my view.
The lack of a full press plays into their hands- surprised Warne didn’t recognize that more to be honest -  but again, you need the legs to carry it out..

Hindsight is great. But yes, agreed. Even more so if u need to constantly press the opposition. Almost as if Warne thought we could outplay them and didn’t need a press..
