Would have thought the EFL will be needing some legal advice of their own if they are thinking of going this path.

The article states Gibson has asked the EFL for support. It doesn't say they have given it.

Article reads as if Boro don’t want to go to court as they might lose so pushing this route.
Cant see how they can be a creditor until they have won the possible court case when they actually get round to suing us.

Agree. If Gibson had purely gone for gate receipts & tv money of playoff semi final then it would be more credulous.

I suppose we should really have known that was most likely not Morris causing the delays, but rather Gibson and the EFL. It's simply yet another stalling tactic that will result in an avalanche of subsequent claims against the EFL should they be feeble enough to cave in.
    CREDITOR:
A term used in accounting, 'creditor' refers to the party that has delivered a product, service or loan, and is owed money by one or more debtors.
Neither Boro nor Wycombe fall into any of the above categories so they can't legally be added to the creditor's list. The admins will have to protect the interests of those with genuine claims and will fight any such attempt. I strongly suspect that this is what they referenced in their press release to BAWT.
The Pint-sized pemaprick and that other irrelevant gobshite therefore need to be reined in and told that if they genuinely wish to pursue their vexatious claims against the club, that they need to do so through appropriate channels. That is to say, they need to stop whining, and duck off to the civil courts if they really believe they have a worthwhile case.

Sympathy to the gentleman & about what happened to his daughter/what she had to endure.
On the subject on Boro & Gibson, Reading finished 7th last season & so avoided any of the controversy we are currently embroiled in, Bournemouth finishing 6th. However, it was the 3rd placed side who won promotion, in our case it was the 5th placed side, Villa. It'd be interesting to find out statistically how often the 6th placed side won promotion via the PO.
Browsing wikepedia, which lists the play-offs from West Ham winning in 2005, the eventual winners placing was:
    3rd/8x
    4th/3x
    5th/4x
    6th/2x, 2005 & 2010/Blackpool
    Similarly with the runners-ups
    3rd/5x (making 13x finalists)
    4th/6x (making 9x finalists)
    5th/4x (making 8x finalists)
    6th/2x (making 4x finalists)
So practically half of the sides who finished 3rd since 2005 have gone on to win promotion, including ourselves. If Mr Gibson thinks that we denied his Boro side promotion, he is being facetious, as they would have had to win through three games to achieve this, & face the side in the final who beat his team comprehensively 3-0 home & away, their worse defeats of the season. Factor in, no side since 2010 finishing 6th has gone on to win the play-offs & only two have reached the final since, one of them Lampard's team in 2019, the one under question. That's 13% in 17 play-offs. 13x the side finishing 3rd has go on to participate at Wembley in 17 seasons.
I wish we would employ lawyers who would argue our case more firmly/forcefully.

    So in a matter of a couple of weeks, the consensus on here has been;
    1) CK was a fantastic moneybags option who could take us to the top.
    2) CK was a clueless **** who wasn’t interested anyway.
    3) Appleby and co were a far better option because they had the no how.
    4) Appleby and co, who?
    5) Mike Ashley is wonderful and has the money we need and the no how (even though he only seems to have said he might be interested)
What a fickle bunch are we!

You are clearly VERY naive. There's no such thing as a nice/pleasant successful business owner, they are all bar stewards, in fact, ruthless bar stewards by nature. People think Gibson at Boro is a nice guy ffs!

I think the administrators will have a realistic idea as to what liquidation of the Club will raise. We know that the Stadium is separately owned. The Playing staff due mostly to the contract situation and the current market would IMO raise less than £15m. Kets generously say that the whole Club if liquidated could raise £20 - 25M but I doubt it, Any figure over the liquidation value is a positive result for the Administrators and Creditors. What would be the point of a forced liquidation to yield less of a payout for creditors??
Buyers and administrators will understand this equation but there will inevitably be brinkmanship. £30M with a CVA for HMRC and football creditors over a few years will not be far off the mark..........creditors will not be happy If the admins let a buyer slip through their fingers by trying to get to much and ending up with less.
