    Thx for that, nice response.
If you have a spare couple of hours and feel like getting utterly depressed take a look at the film, or read the book, Just Mercy if you are interested. It's pretty bleak material and makes you realise just how far lots of America is from that which the Orange one might have us all believe is the reality. I'm not the most widely travelled in North America but you don't have to get too far from the big cities to see just how inequality is.

    Where? Well maybe Alabama?
African Americans make up 42% of people on death row and 34% of those executed,17 but only 13% of the population is black. You are seventeen times more likely to be executed in America if your victim what white than if they were black. For every nine people executed one person is exonerated, suggesting one in nine is incorrectly executed. Last year, with a state population of 4.5 million people, Alabama imposed more new death sentences than Texas, with a population of 24 million. Deontay might be a bit of a twonk at times, and he's certainly no Martin Luther King, but it's a little more than attention seeking or - if it is - I sure hope he gets the attention.

Got to be honest, I thought it was a film that didn't know how to get itself out of the story it had got itself into. First hour is great, second hour a bit long and then it just seems to struggle to know how to pull all the ends together. Shame, great concept but just got a bit silly.
    Just Mercy:
Easy to sit and think it's just another Green Mile story of people wrongly in prison in the Deep South of America. Then you realise it's a true story and one in nine African Americans on death row have been wrongly convicted. Truly amazing story of someone who just decided to do something about it, utterly depressing that it still goes on. And, to segue into another thread, makes you realise that maybe Deontay Wilder isn't a total Bamford with his position on this.
Somewhere between an Archie Gemill and a Bobby Davison/10

I think Whyte will get his chance next, Joshua will fight Usyk at Wembley after getting rid of Pulev. That means AJ vs Fury won't happen till 2021. It will be the fight of a generation and the biggest British sporting event since either 1966 or when the Scottish curling team had that bronze medal match, you decide.

The point for me here is that there is only one way Wilder can win this fight but there are many ways Fury can. But Wilder only needs to get through once, cleanly, and Fury will have questions asked. That will happen, no way Fury can keep him out all night, but it's just a question of whether he takes that hit spark on the chin or its less than a clean shot. Fury has some logic in his 'up and at 'em' approach, Wilder wins by clubbing from distance and even the Ortiz II knockout shows he is most powerful when given distance to extend. If Fury can keep inside range and box clever he's got a chance, strangely he's most likely to get tagged keeping at distance.
It's going to be a really tense affair, I have a horrible feeling Fury will spoil his way to a win and Wilder is always only one big swing away from sealing.

Nope, not at all. Because it doesn't rely on special effects for the jumps. If you are into The Shining you should also watch Room 237 - a documentary about the film made after Kubrick's death. It's part conspiracy theory, part homage to a great film maker but I really enjoyed it. I guarantee after it you will want to go back and watch The Shining again.

If he can't beat Ruiz once in two goes he doesn't deserve to be champ. You're bang on right, though, the person who beat AJ that night in MSG was not Ruiz but Wilder - he psyched Joshua totally into trying to match like for like what he did against Breazele and it - quite literally - blew up in his face. Will be so interesting to see if AJ has learnt how to move a bit (he makes Bruno look like Kirklaind Laing at times) and if he can plan a fight a bit like he did the Parker fight. I have to say I am nervous and I do think AJ has slipped seriously down the rankings - from number one to behind at least Fury and Wilder even after the win. A year ago I thought he was going to rule this division for years, now I'm not even sure he will ever be unified champ.

George Foreman, Rocky Marciano, Earnie Shavers are three that might have a discussion to have with you on that. I think Wilder is starting to build up, as you suggest, one of those false zero records. Calzaghe started with a record that didn't always stand up to scrutiny, the Lacy fight changed all of that. As you say, Wilder is messy but the guy can bang and I only recall one fight (the first Ortiz one) where he was inches from being out of there. Against Fury he sure was down on the cards but elsewhere he hasn't had a Wallinn type cut, he hasn't got floored off a fat Mexican coz he didn't feel right. He's a mess of a fighter but he's keeping it together (with a little help from his friends, I admit)

Children In Need. I find it infuriating that the only way for many of these projects to get completed is by celebrities convincing us to fund it with our own earned cash (often, though not always, post tax). We all still do it, coz we need to, but what a sad state of affairs that our society relies on pulling at the heart strings of tv watchers on a Friday night to raise nearly £50m (in excess of a pound per working person).
