That tactician we lost doesn't seem to be doing very well, W1 D3 L6 since WR has been DCs Manager, Not sure when he took up the role tho?‍♀️

    It's not about him.

As a club, we could use a Senior assistant manager and potentially a tactician supporting the club's strategy for games.

It's a shame we can't get someone like marcelo Bielsa as manager. It obvious wouldn't happen but I'm just not sure risking it all on rosenoir is the right approach.

He probably was the best option at the time, given the summer window to rebuild the club.

In the last game why didn't we switch to 451 or 532 and defend the lead.

Sure, the interim appointment was fine. And he may still make good. But there’ll need to be a big change before he’s made permanent

I've mentioned my reasons for why I think he was selected.

I personally think you need a certain kind of manager, someone who can build something out of nothing.

I don't know who fits the bill and would willingly take the role, given what was on the table as part of the offer ie zero transfer budget for two years

I'd have liked to have seen one of the top four managers in League one take the role, but what do they get in return without a transfer budget.

The club lost its tactician, as they followed, Rooney to the usa.

    We need a new tactician.

  3. I think the decision to offer the role to Rosenoir was based on need at the time.

A club needed to be rebuilt fast from a very difficult place.

Multiple recruitment decisions had to be taken.

The recruitment decisions weren't made on the basis of if we had a transfer budget, but on who we could bring in as a free agent.

In my opinion the correct decision was taken to recruit experienced players who had previous championship or promotion from League one experience.

I'm not saying that some of those older players have resale value if we don't get promoted this season.

That built up a team, a huge amount of players brought in.

Most teams in League one brought in a couple of players, we brought in a team. That takes time to gel.

Rosenior was a gamble, but who could you get to come in at short notice that was experienced with the club.

Would I have preferred a different manager, maybe John Terry or Judy marsh if they had accepted the offer to manage the club.

The question isn't easy to answer, that's because if your a decent manager and your offered a job in League one, with a team that requires a complete rebuild and doesn't come with a transfer budget for two year, that might not interest the people you want to hire as manager.

  5. When your looking at a 3-2 defeat, two things spring to mind ...

    1. Are our defenders good enough

    2. We're the tactics right

We had no ability to spend a transfer fee and we have a untested new manager.

    I think our managers learning.

I think we might have the best defence we could get given that we relied on free agents.

I'm confident we will be in the play off places this season, and I'm not surprised given team strength due to having no transfer budget and nearly non existent team a few weeks ago.

I've never thought we would outright win league one, and I'm grateful we still have a club to support.

    Can’t argue with that.

Do we gamble on Oduroh though?

Free agents can be signed by a club at any time during the season, if they had been released by their previous club before the end of the transfer window. A club can request to sign a player on emergency basis, e.g. if several goalkeepers are injured at the same time.

Might be oduroh is OK at this level, might be that we require a free agent right back.

There's a case for knight playing there, but I want to see him in his best position and that's not right back in my opinion.

McGoldrick was excellent but I’ve read the post match comments and wondering if I’m the only one that noticed that shot he had in the second half when we were still 2 up?

Can’t remember the full move but he ran and shot, which was either blocked or pushed wide. Collins though was a few feet further on, not offside and unmarked. Said to blokes around me he should’ve passed to Collins; only for one bloke to say he’d have blazed over. Can’t fathom why he thought that, as I’ve not noticed him do it yet. Seems he really has to win a lot over, a 2nd goal and us going 3 up might have done that.

This is just my opinion, as I noticed it at the time and thought we might regret that miss.

Collins last season 3 goals in 23 appearan es, couldn't hit a barn door.

He might have changed of course ...

Doncaster Rover 22 year old right back, could he be an interesting player for us to consider, given that we might need a right back.

I read that he's available for loan.

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/footballleagueworld.co.uk/doncaster-rovers-boss-tells-defender-hes-free-to-leave-on-loan/amp/

The player has 12 months remaining on his current contract, so potentially a loan leading to a free transfer.
