BatRam got a reaction from Mostyn6 in Johnny Russell

BatRam reacted to May Contain Nuts in Johnny Russell
If over the next few months we're linked to any left backs who've been playing in the MLS for the past 2 seasons, just say no!

@TomSaint
We found out last night that Radio Derby are re-broadcasting "The Derby County Story" bringing it up to date, so that's a must listen for you.
There are also two programmes with the content from last night. All the details are below.

BatRam got a reaction from turbo in Rooney shouldn’t be allowed to bring in the players he wants
The club need a style of play and buy players to suit it. Because when Rooney goes and we get a dif manager it wont work. For example when we had Rowett he got a tune out of em cause he played defensively and didn't constantly play out from the back. And thats why we struggled after him to play out from the back. If you get in a manager that plays out from the back and plays Tika taka style football but youve got gret big lumps that cant play that well it wont work will it ?

If lawrence leaves , i hope Davies stays so he can have the armband. A modern day Derby legend. ( Theres few id consider modern derby legends apart from Martin , Bryson )
Hopefully we get back to winning ways next season!
Transfer window is my favorite part of the season tbh , if we keep what we've got and add some additions that rooney wants to fit his style will be brill. As someone said previously it will be like building a squad on Football manager or fifa ?

BatRam got a reaction from Ewe Ram in Rooney shouldn’t be allowed to bring in the players he wants
In my opinion, yes the club should set boundaries to prevent our previous downfall of buying garbage for millions.
But at the same time you have to back the manager.
Kirchner wants to keep Rooney so thats the style of play he wants for the club.
I'm hoping this is an era of us recruiting well and not having our pants down in the transfer windows ?

I’m excited about
The club’s new owner being in place
renewing my season ticket (never wanted to part with my cash as much as I do for what is usually a simple transaction I have previously taken for granted)
hearing the date the new season starts
Knowing when the fixture list is out
the fixture list being out & putting matches in the diary
hearing pre season fixture details
Hearing Curtis has signed a deal keeping him at the club forever, in whatever capacity he wants, as we’ll always owe him & he always delivers what’s asked of him

If you can get hold of and watch this documentary series, it will explain everything.

There was a BBC documentary in 1984 highlighting our decline from champions to division 3. Think it was narrated by Tony Francis. Ends with all the coaches leaving for Bournemouth on the first day of the season in Division 3 and showing what great support we had. That would be worth a watch if you could find it.

Anyone Excited for the potential rebuild? ( aslong as the take over goes through!)
Rooneys had to do his best with what hes got so im intrigued to find out how hes going to build the team for next season.
For example what kind of striker do you think hes looking for ? Target man? Poacher?
If we can keep our current starting 11 and add to it i think we're gonna be alright!

BatRam got a reaction from Kathcairns in Excited
Exactly. If we can keep all/most of our current crop and add to it , we'll be decent. Look at Sheff wednesday for example. how they kept Bannan i dont know. If lawrence stays he'll be the best player in the league

Rest assured we won't be 'buying garbage for millions' any time soon.

This is the crucial bit. We have championship level players at the moment. If we can keep the core of them together then we'll be well placed. If we can't, then we'll be shopping for L1-level players and won't be any better off than Portsmouth, Sunderland, Sheff Weds, Ipswich or anyone else among the bigger teams in that league.

That'd be a great signing. Unfortunately i don't think he'd drop to league one. I'd love cybulski to bulk up abit and become a 6ft 5 target man ?

Ever since 2008 we've basically alternated between seasons when we were near the top/playoffs (Mac/Lampard) and seasons when we've been near the bottom and in a relegation scrap (Clough/Rooney).
During the latter type of season we fretted and lost sleep imagining that to be cast into the netherworld of League 1 would be the very worst thing that could ever happen.
Well now it has. And we're still breathing.
We could have settled for being an average Championship side with occasional forays into the top league. Instead we fell for someone who dreamed big, spent big, pushed the envelope, and ultimately crashed and burned.
It's now clear that although the EFL mishandled many things we are now where the actions of our previous owner mean we deserve to be.
In Scotland, Rangers had to fight their way back from their League 2 for similar transgressions. It could be far worse.
SO, let's focus on what we have that most teams in League 1 don't.
30,000 or so loyal fans, PL quality stadium & infrastructure, a history including winning the top league twice, an Academy producing PL standard players (e.g. Hughes/Hendrick/Plange/Ebosele etc), a high profile manager who has the loyalty of everyone, new ownership, and presumably a wage/transfer budget that will be competitive in League 1. Most League 1 teams would love to be us.
Factor in also the 'bounce back' factor (Bournemouth for example) and what we hopefully have ahead of us is a revival similar to the Cox/Smith years. Bring it on!

Like he said he has worked here with his arms and legs tied behind his back..so basically he has never been able to manage the way he would want to. Even players he brought in that were taking us to a miraculous survival were taken away to ensure our demise.
I'm very excited about what he might do when he has the freedom to actually manage his squad.
