For people giving out about Warne,

Cashins head wasn’t in the game to start,

    Tommo injured in training,

    Rooney injured after 10 mins,

A peno given agaisnt us outside the box,

A penalty or two we should have had, not given,

    And generally awful Reffing

I’d have taken 3 points from them two games before they started we move onto a nicer run of games now.

The sending off? Are we sure about that ? If nothing else losing your goalie isn't something you would expect every game.

So now we are done for this transfer window, unless we get any free agents in, how do we feel about our squad...

Based on a 4231 or 433 which we have played in our last 2 games...

    GK - Wildsmith / Vickers / Loach

    RB - Ward / Wilson
    RCB -  Nelson / Rooney
    LCB - Cashin / Bradley
    LB - Forsyth / Elder

    RCM - Smith / Fornah
    LCM - Hourihane / Bird

    RM - NML / Sibley
    CAM - Embleton / Thompson
    LM - Waghorn / Barkhuizen

    ST - Washington / John-Jules / Collins

Obviously some players can play other positions (e.g Waggy & Sibley can play across the 3). I put Sibley on the right purely to show 2 in each position.

Squad of 24 plus the likes of Bardell, Robinson & Brown to potentially step up from the academy.

I personally think if we stick to this formation, it suits our players & its good enough for top 2.

I am surprised we didn't get another RB in on loan given two are out long term injured. Maybe with extra midfielders Smith will switch back to RB for now?

There's a number of factors. Number of club appearances, international appearances, how long he's been with us, what sort of contract we've offered, etc.

Other people might be able to provide better estimates based on recent history but I'd guess at about 1-1.5 million. We would get more for Bird, I believe.

Edit: it's decided by an independent panel.

Shouldn't they factor in that we had a bid for £3.5m. Isn't that relevant to the assessment?

This surely is the point. Percy was quoting an 'end' amount. So it is more than possible the up front amount was small.

Indeed I imagine the up front amount was less than we'll get compo!

So Percy was just sh*t-stirring and we couldn't come to an agreement because Brighton wouldn't offer enough but were happy to unsettle further Cashin.

Percy is a Forest fan. If Brighton had wanted him badly enough they could have signed him , but didn't.

Unfortunately I can see him going. I think BHA will ultimately offer £3m at some stage in the next day or so, and Clowes will surely have to take it. There will be no loan back either (no advantage to BHA). If it happens the best we can hope for is that Warne and his team have a decent replacement in mind (lined up).

BHA have loaned out a few players , like Clarke. It’s unlikely Cash would get straight into the Prem. If Derby insist on a loan back condition why wouldn’t BHA accept that.. no advantage you say but what’s the disadvantage?

    I absolutely did.....

    Isn't that the point though?

I've recognised, unlike some, that since his return to us,he has been playing well  and I've had to accept that I may have been wrong about him!

Maybe the current coaching team are getting the best out of his abilities, his first touch seems to be far better than it used to be.

Or maybe League One is his level. McGoldrick wasn’t prolific in his career until last year in League One.

Wow. Didn’t see that coming. Our three games against teams that were in League one last year have all been improved on compared to last season. Nine points from three games compared to only one point in corresponding games last season,

Against that we lost to Oxford at home.. beat them last year. Still well up on last year.

  8. It is often said we wouldn't have club without him. But that is speculation. Mike Ashley made an increased offer but Q had already given Kirchner his exclusivity period. Ashley bid if it  had gone through would probably have led to a 15 point deduction as I doubt he would have paid unsecured creditors 25%.  But we would still have a club.

Derby’s valuation of him is entirely unrealistic given his contract situation and our current standing. It would surprise me if Brighton are willing to throw us a bone but for around £1.5m.

Brighton may think it makes better sense signing him now rather than competing to sign him in 12 months time when his wage demands could be higher. And it’s just another smart investment on their part to loan him out, similar to Matt Clarke.

Brighton have made four offers all turned down. If you think we should accept £1.5 million, how low do you think the offers to date must have been? Bristol had our pants down wit Knight we shouldn't make same mistake with Cashin especially if Premier team interested. Plus we are running out of time if we are going to strengthen this window.

Serious question,  was thinking whilst at the game yesterday relative to the level we are playing at and the standard of football we are playing I think this team is a contender for our worst ever side.

I only started watching in 2008 as I was 9 then and that's when I got into Derby, but this is definitely the worst team since I've been watching,  heard we were bad in the 1980s but I doubt we were ever this bad.  2007 Prem side would beat this team imo and wouldn't struggle vs average League 1 teams.

What do people think who have been watching for decades? Got to be up there at the moment imo.

The team that were relegated to League One in 1984 had Bobby Davison, Kevin Wilson and Steve Buckley. Plus like this squad a lot of oldies well past their sell by date , but at least then the oldies had been good once. This lot is way worse than the 1984 crop. And before that well of course Clough and Mackay.  I would think this is easily the worst team we have had in the last 60 years, quite probably ever. .

Nah come on now, some of the home performances under Paul Jewell were totally cringeworthy

Yes but I am making allowance for the opposition. Losing 6-2 to Arsenal is not as bad as losing to Fleetwood. We drew against Man City under Jewell.. couldn't imagine that now.

1 win in 9 at home in LEAGUE ONE. Send him packing.

The three worst performances I have seen from a Derby side in over 50 years at home (have all come in the last few months( v Fleetwood, Wigan and Oxford). And they  have all come under Paul Warne.  In fairness though our poor summer recruitment (and retention) policy can only partly be blamed on Warne. Why we bothered getting a recruitment manager (ironically from Oxford) I will never know.

  13. Global warming

It's very simple. We are asking for no party politics.

There is so many serious discussions that can be had, alternative views be made and the topics will remain open.

You all have to realise though that we are serious about our zero tolerance on any party politics, once that sinks in this board will more welcoming for all.

I have also made alternative suggestions where you can all moderate yourself behind a closed private group chat, I'm assuming that none of you have taken the initiative to start one.

global warming shouldn’t be a party political debate on this forum. But then neither should free speech. In fact the principle of free speech is not that you agree with what someone says but that you defend their right to say it.

the irony is that the free speech threads are the ones most likely to get vaporised by the thought police. Why not just delete the posts of those (usual suspects) who stray into party politics.
