Writing on the sole of your slipper with a biro...
... on a Saturday night instead of going to the pub.. badum-bah!

... The day before. Reflections of yesterday with a bangin head!
It wasn't just Pride Park or the Neptune - it was the whole of Derby - some places have it and some don't, it's that simple!
It's easy to support Liverpool, it's easy to follow one of the Manchester clubs.
I don't think there is a greater footballing place in the UK than Derby!

Kinda agree with what NottsRammie & Ghost of Clough have said.
I like SBW & the We Are Derby poem but not for the team to run out to. Maybe played in the 15-20 minutes before kick off.
The Dambusters theme is traditionally what Derby County run out to - and the reasons that it should be reinstated as the run-out music are:
1. it is unique to us (awaits contradiction) 🫣
2. it is relevant to Derby(shire) - Barnes Wallace was born in Ripley, 617 Sqn trained over Ladybower Reservoir, took off for the raid not a million miles away (ok it was Lincolnshire I think)
4. It is traditionally ours (not a minor point)!
5. Its simple & class!
The ones that work - that really work are the simple & classy ones, Sweet Caroline - wish i'd thought of that! not these high tempo 'got to get the blood pumping' & change it in a few years when its no longer in vogue.
Make it happen bass player!

Filmed at the BBG and directed by Mikey Dolenz of The Monkees if memory serves
Both true (used to have footage from Derby home games)... Also, Gary Holton (Wayne in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet) sang the theme tune & Mac Murphy was played by Ken Hutchison who was a Californian police detective in the 1970s 😆.

The play 'The Firm' - the original, NOT THE REMAKE deals with it very well IMO.
Directed by Alan Clarke and written by Al Hunter (an ex hooligan himself).
The character Dominic comes across slightly inadequate throughout. At the end he is ranting to the TV people "it's about belonging".
...It's also worth a watch for the nasty guy in Murphy's Mob playing a copper and dealing with Benny from Grange Hill who has just been cut up...
"come on the train from London did you?... Ah, hitch-hiked... And your name is (looks at statement), Michael Jackson... You're going to need some more plastic surgery Michael!"

None of the die hards or home alone...
But the big one is the lion King...
Back when I was in, my OC (very aristocratic female) tried to talk to me about it, I said 'never seen it', she asked why & I replied 'it's beneath me' (not really being serious)
Next day my FofS was in her office, I was in earshot and heard her say 'AND HE SAID IT WAS BENEATH HIM'!

I quite like the fact that every March, April or May time we are record breakers again... gives me an excuse for a small celebration 🙂 🍾

Trivia - the actress who plays Marie-Laure (Aria Mia Loberti) is blind in real life.

The Fall Of the House Of Usher (Netflix)
Just as I once again consider putting my subscription on hold I find something I enjoy!
I'm 3 episodes in and recommend it, good storyline with interesting characters - don't think it is in any way like the classic short story, more a homage to EAP... Luke Skywalker is in it... so it's gotta be good! 😁

People who put things in urinals that shouldn't be there (chewing gum, paper towels) - I just think, oh, come on... someone has to get that out! and...
When your exhausted after work & have to attend some bone school thing in the school hall, a teacher on the stage will always try to say something funny - but it isn't in any way - there is always some parent (usually a mother) who will do this fake canned laughter!

Just popped into Wagon & Horses - Luton Town territory & said to the landlady "there was something I wanted to ask you"?
She said "Curtis Davies, moved to Cheltenham"?
"Nope"
"Ah, Sonny Bradley, signed for Derby?... you'll do alright there... hardnut & a leader"
Anyway, just thought I'd share
Keep the faith✊️

Newquay, love the surfer vibes around the town. Took the kids a few weeks back & admitted to myself that it has a darker underbelly of stag / hen doo's... chavs...always did have - even back when my parents first took me back in '83.
Guess its like the opening scene of Moulin Rouge where Christian thinks he is in a bohemian heaven but in reality... Montmartre is my favourite place on the planet!

Ernesto "Che" Guevara
Not so much an actor - more a poster boy & doesn't do that much nowadays enjoying a quiet life in a small village in Somerset.

Remember getting back from Newport walking with my mates from the station & a police car pulled over & asked if we had heard about Bradford.😥

Hi guys, wow, two years ago Port Vale at home - fantastic response both at Pride Park and this forum! If you can come along to ITFC tomorrow and support that would be brilliant! This article explains the very worthy charity that money is being raised for in Jakes memory.
