I only watch the Derby first team hence why I have absolutely zero opinion on who should be in team of the year, or why someone who I've never even heard of shouldn't win an award?
Kinda of begs the question why are you in this thread then?🤷♂️

It is.
I always liked that bit on Match of the day when the referee for the match was named, along with where he was from - Clive Thomas from Treorchy etc.
The only time I have ever heard the name 'Spennymoor' is in the context of George Courtney.
I have the same thing but with Graham Poll and Tring

ATG
1Wildsmith - 6 - nothing to do
35Nelson - 7 - relatively untroubled but as reliable as always
5Bradley - 7.5 - 2 goals, solid enough, great return
6Cashin - 7 - see Nelson
2Wilson - 7 - lively, always wanted to get forward, a surprising nuisance at corners
12Smith - 7 - does a nice job in midfield, seems to work well in tandem with Adams
23Fornah - 6
32Adams - 7.5 - was everywhere, what a guy. if we go up, hopefully we can sign him permanently
10Waghorn - 6
17Sibley - 8 - MOM for me, and his best game in the LWB position for the club
4Hourihane - 6.5 - extra half point for the assist
9Collins - 7 - led the line well, and worked as hard as ever
14Washington - 6
11Méndez-Laing - 7 - much better than in recent weeks, and dangerous from corners
7Barlhuizen - 6

So essentially, the worry is that Collins could be out injured for zero games, the whole season, or somewhere in between?
Talk about hedging your bets. 😀
Well yes, as that’s why he’s having a scan. This isn’t hard really is it?

Yeah Wharton is a real talent, that fee could look like a huge bargain this time next year.

How can he make last ditch tackles if someone outpaced him? You have to keep up to make a last ditch tackle
Perhaps I should have phrased that better but I think you know what I meant - so where he is ‘in the process’ of being outpaced and has had to make a last ditch challenge.
Again to reiterate I really like Cashin, just don’t see him as a top PL player in the future

I agree. The thing is that Cashin has that stocky sort of build that you assume will not be pacey but in fact he is actually quite quick and his positional sense means he is rarely caught out for pace. Is he ready for the prem? Probably not though I suspect he will play at that level in the future.
I guess we’ll see - I can recall a few occasions where his last ditch tackling has rescued him when he’s been clearly outpaced. And this is at L1 level.
Don't get me wrong, I love the guy as much as the next Ram, and can see him playing bottom half PL potentially.

£4m is a lot of money for a League One CB with 6 months left on his contract. Obviously the option we have for another year plays into our hands, but I still thought we’d struggle to get £2m.
Delighted, but surprised, that it sounds like he’s staying for the season. Still fully expect him to leave in the summer, but hopefully as a Championship player for even more money! He’ll play top end Premier League football imo. He’s that good in all aspects of his play.
Agree with almost all of this, other than I don't think he is quick enough to be a top end Premier League defender.

I thought this thread was going to be about the digital clock - it annoys me no end that for the 2nd half, it starts at 0:00 rather than at 45:00.

Probably embarrassed about the telling his dad bit and it getting back. As he was subbed, I'd go with Gregory.
Hmm, knowing Gregory's 'form' for b******* I'll go with Grealish's version.

1Wildsmith - 6.5: Not much to do, but a fine save from the free kick 1st half
24Nyambe - 6.5: Solid as usual
5Bradley - 6: Won his headers, no disasters this week
35Nelson - 7.5: Dominant at the back
6Cashin - 7.5: See Nelson
3Forsyth - 7: Nicely taken goal and a threat at set pieces
4Hourihane - 6: Pretty passive during the game but helped keep things ticking over when it was needed
7Barkhuizen - 6: Always a threat but poor day in front of goal
17Sibley - 6: Hit the bar, not much else
12Smith - 6.5: Neat and tidy, couple of nice through balls in the 2nd half
8Bird 🦅 - 6.5: Steady, not quite as effective as in recent games
11Méndez-Laing - 7: Main threat in the 1st half, shame he went off
2Wilson - 7: Dancing feet, real threat, feel he's best suited as an impact sub which is a great asset to have
9Collins - 8.5: Probably best game I've seen him have for us. The 2 goals aside, his work on and off the ball was irst class.

I don't mind Ed Dawes - he's no Graham Richards but who is. I'd much rather have a Derby fan in that role than not. That's also why I'd have Ramage back but that's another debate.
It's all subjective but I really like Eric Steele and Darren Robinson for the knowledge of the game they bring. Not a fan of Dietrich as an interviewer/ presenter. Worst ever for me is Colin Gibson.
Edit - eas Dom Dietrich
I may be wrong but I believe Graham Richards is.

1Wildsmith - 5.5: At fault for the 2nd, and seemed to struggle to communicate with the back 3. Half a mark extra for the one on one save
35Nelson - 6: Steady debut, distribution was inconsistent, great cross in 2nd half that Fozzy should've buried
5Bradley - 5: Looked surprisingly nervous. At fault for the 1st, should've scored from the 1st half corner
6Cashin - 5.5: Looked a bit off the pace, distribution wasn't its usual quality.
14Washington - 6: Lively when he came on but would be better centrally than the wide left role he was tasked with
23Ward - 7: Good debut, clearly better going forward, was a real threat in the 2nd half before he went off
2Wilson - 6.5: Promising cameo, especially the first 5 mins or so
12Smith - 6: Did ok but sometimes takes too long on the ball
8Bird - 6: Some nice touches but largely ineffective
4Hourihane - 6: Same as Bird
3Forsyth - 7: Did well in the wingback role, great goal but coud and should have had at least 1 more
Elder - 6: Did ok but clearly needs games
9Collins - 6.5: Thought he did quite well in our build ups but not sure he is playing the role PW wants him to
11Méndez-Laing - 6: Decison making seems to be an issue in those central positions, great shot in the 1st half though
Thompson - 6:

No he hasn’t gone there ‘over us’ at all, as we weren’t interested in Stockton

As much as it’s been easy to bash Bradley after his calamitous start, he’s been excellent for the past few months in both boxes (bar the silly sending off)
