I don’t think it did. He could have bought it from elsewhere.

If it did make general sale, they probably went in a few minutes, just like the Barnsley ones did.

It definitely did. His ticket wasn’t bought elsewhere. They did sell out pretty quickly on the day they went to general sale. Another of my friends missed out.

He was out of his depth at Stoke, let alone the premier league. Seems like one of those managers that just clicks with a certain club and becomes synonymous with them, making them seem like world beaters, but can never recreate it elsewhere.

There’s a good game. Name managers that fit into that category.

    I’ll start: Holloway at Blackpool.

Holloway got Crystal Palace promoted also.

    What did they do?

At 3-1 some fans got very mardy. Being abusive to the opposition fans to the left of us (sticking fingers up and striding towards them), quite a few kicked the boards on the barrier in front of us aggressively. Kicking off at stewards. One man was above the barrier at one point.

Due to the wheelchair area being front row I missed most of the last 5-10 minutes as stewards were standing across the front (due to our fans’s behaviour).

6526 seats left. A South Stand Upper/Lower Block and one block in the West not for sale.

Usual 2500 seats also never available (from a league game - Not sure how the separation eliminates so many!) - So I reckon we're something like:

    Derby Tickets Purchased - 21,000

    West Ham Fans - 5,400

So by Monday - maybe we can get 27k for this game realistically? Maybe Tuesday may have given a nudge to some people.

West Ham have 4,800 tickets according to their ticket information.

Without wading into the debates over what's right or wrong, making everyone sit down at away games would reduce the atmosphere in the away end to a campfire sing along. Would be crap.

I disagree. I was in the “home end” area for the England v Germany match in September where everyone (else) was standing. The atmosphere was terrible. There were also blocks of standing at my visit to Man City this season and it was one of the worst atmospheres I’ve been in.

Standing does not mean a better/louder atmosphere.

  6. I’m a wheelchair user and have to miss some away matches because I know that I won’t see some or all of the pitch because I know fans will be standing in the area in front of me (due to inadequate facilities that the clubs’ know they have but often won’t do anything about unless forced to).

If I or the person I’m with asks others to sit we are usually given verbal abuse (even though we’re all there for the same reason, to watch & support Derby).

Standing in seated areas IS selfish (and sometimes arrogance). @B4ev6is please think of others that cannot or don’t want to stand (or be forced to stand because everyone else is).

I also don’t understand the notion that the atmosphere is only better because people stand. As someone who likes to chant etc. I can tell you that it can still be enjoyable sitting down.

Got to remember some season ticket holders travel a long way and midweek evening games are a bit of a slog , yes if it was forest in the quarter finals I would be more inlined to get there but Torquay in the second round just doesn’t inspire

Fair enough if you can’t get there or can’t afford to go but I don’t understand the don’t inspire logic (although I know that you’re not alone in that thinking). I go to matches to watch Derby not the opposition. If I can get there (and can afford it) I’ll be there regardless of who the opposition team is.

Is there any kind of reason that this isn’t being played on the Saturday afternoon?

The last couple of seasons I don’t think there’s been any Saturday 3pm kick-offs in the 3rd round (we played Coventry at 12.30 Saturday last season). It’s to do with TV deals abroad apparently (I thought it was because of the 3pm Saturday blackout rule in the UK).

If I’m honest, compared to what was discussed yesterday with tv rights this is probably the better of two evils.

Allowing 3pm KOs to be broadcasted will kill attendances. Especially with the cost of living going up. More people will stay at home and watch on Amazon etc.

We might be annoyed now when the games get moved every so often but PP will be below 20k regularly if they go ahead with the short sited plans. Sure slightly more money in from tv rights but for a club like derby we’ll be out of pocket.

It’s about time the blackout rule was scrapped imo. Not everyone can go or afford to go to every away match or even home games. Why should they not be able to watch their team on TV?

I currently go to most away games but I rely on others to take me so sometimes I cannot go. Knowing that there’s a back-up of Rams TV etc. which means I can see the match is great. I believe that Britain is the only country where the rule is applied. You may see it as short-sighted but I find it ridiculous that people abroad can watch our matches but I can’t because I live in the UK.

it’s revenue that clubs are missing out on. Perhaps it would also lower ticket costs in time.

Many of us have grown up with football shirts that have sponsors on.

    Liverpool, Carlsberg

    Man United, Sharp

    Newcastle, Newcastle Brown Ale

    Arsenal, JVC

You have an original shirt of the above and you're looking at decent money now to buy one, they are classic shirts and the sponsor is part of them.

Ok, gambling sponsors are controversial, yet some kids will look back at the Lampard bounce, the 32 Red Rooney with fond memories in years to come.

Football shirts without sponsors these days just don't look right as sad as that may sound to some that grew up before sponsorships.

I’m the same generation as you and I used to not mind sponsors on shirts but I don’t like them anymore (especially if it’s something I don’t agree with like betting or alcohol).  The shirts look far nicer without. I purposely bought our shirts without sponsors the last few seasons (if I can find them).

The big red Just Eat logo put me off buying some of our shirts all together because I thought it was just an eyesore and totally dominated the shirt.

These glorified friendlies against top opposition helps to build fitness and iron out tactical or selection issues ahead of the major tournaments.

I’m sure Southgate would view it a positive exercise, regardless of the result.

While of course when you step onto the field you want to win the game, the results in this glorified friendly league are really irrelevant.

We have a good World Cup group to gain confidence from and ultimately the luck of the draw will determine how far we go.

We all know the moment we play a good team we generally lose. Let’s hope we can eradicate that in December.

Regardless of what you think of the Nations League, relegation means it’s now harder for us to qualify for tournaments.

    I would think it’s likely.

we definitely have more than 2,000 members cos we sold out to members for Shrewsbury at just over 2,000

At the moment we have sold 275 seats. The standing area is difficult to work out, they just keep releasing a few as they are sold, currently 108 available, but no way of working out how many have been sold.

Shrewsbury was 1,652 according the ticket information Derby released.
