Usyk - Fury re-match booked in a deal quicker than the original fight. Funny that! 😂 No venue as yet, but a December bout to presumably form the centrepiece of the Riyadh Season. Fair play to the Saudis for stumping up the moolah again, but it does seem a shame that their commitment to boxing doesn't stretch to booking venues where traditional fight fans are able / likely to attend.

Where promoters get all the hype and money without actually doing the fighting? 
Wilder v Zhang is the main event. On paper it's an interesting fight. I expect it won't be that memorable. The first decent connection will probably end it. And it won't be two fierce lions waiting to pounce. It's a fight between a giraffe and an elephant
There's a few offensive jokes about their footwork and Paralympics that I won't repeat here but you get the idea. 
It won't be which big banger finds a way in first. It will be which of them try to move but forget their feet. 
I think Wilder, especially if he's not such a nervous Bambi as the Parker fight. 
Undercard is solid again thanks to His Excellency, supreme leader, Lord Of Light, Holy Master of Devine Ceremony etc etc

I hated the idea of a european super league when it was floated a few years ago but the more i think about it the more its growing on me! Take the franchise clubs and f off on your european greed train and let the proper clubs sort out a proper league where footballs run sustainably! 

I dont see us as mid table! I see it as anything but relegation this first season! Im all for ambition but my worry is this first season will not be pretty, itll be about surviving and building for the following season! And you could say that the closest we came was by doing it the right way.  We built slow and steady under GSE and let Clough build a team - OK, partly their own doing in their first 2 windows.  Sometimes you need to move slowly to move quickly.  I think it’s better to have steady, focused and controlled growth than trying to throw money at it and hope for quick results.

Finding and signing that gem of a striker would help or perhaps he is already here and was out on loan. Effective Striker this year more key than ever

I think the problem with it is it will ruin competition in the game! On the pitch! Thats the "product" people want and pay for which drives the business!
Like a european super league, maybe im wrong but to me the reason Liverpool v real madrid is appealing is because it doesnt happen that often so when it does it makes for a great sporting event! If the big european clubs play each other all the time the magic goes! The "product" isnt as valuable!
Same with if man city win the prem for the next 10 years! Etc, etc! 
 
To me all this big business and big money is just short term thinking and it will burst, because the powers that be forget what makes this game great and that is the competition, the actual football! The more that gets erroded away by money and unfair playing fields eventually people wont enjoy it and stop paying for it!

Yeah probably! I think the agents are a massive problem in the modern game tho! They drive up wages and transfer fees! I dont mind footballers having someone to look out for there interests but some of the cuts agents get to make a deal is crazy and its just common sense for them to engineer moves for players so they get there cuts! 
 
I know this is all pie in the sky thinking lol but in an ideal world fifa would run the world of football equally and the money would be devided around countrys and leagues evenly so you have a truley fair playing field!

After this Summers Euros , next June/July we will be treated to the Club World Cup . 32 Top clubs go to the U.S.A to fight it out . I understand that lower Championship is not for you . What concerns me is that kids are saturated with images of the worlds top players and won’t give a fig about the “Bread and butter” , EFL .

The Prem are saying - That if you take away Parachute payments , the promoted teams won’t dare sign top players from all over the world .If you get up - owners have to invest in the squad first , before the gravy train can start . Burnley went up with 101 pts and invested £100 mill , only to come down . It’s high stakes gambling . I can’t see David Clowes wanting to play .

Brentford incrementally hoisted themselves from relative obscurity by recruiting players on a data based model of analysing player attributes, buying those that excel in footballing stats in relation to their playing positions and then selling them on when, surprise, surprise they repeated their statistical strengths at a higher level. 

Whilst some may scoff at this data-based approach, they got far more right than wrong and they're now in the Premier League and have made a profit on players of well north of £100m.

Bigger Premier League teams can afford to buy "off the peg" and mostly need instant results. We need to learn some lessons from Brentford if we want to slowly work our way back to the promised land. Mel mostly messed up by cherry picking some of the best players from our rivals, then trying to crowbar them into our team, ignoring the fact that we played a different style from the team we bought them from.

We've a long way to go before we can dream of a similar renaissance, but be more Brentford. Player stats are by no means perfect, but can lead you to spend your money wisely, and hit the jackpot of resales on a fairly frequent basis.

The first stat we should concentrate on is players who regularly are able to play 40+ games a year consistently.  At least you're not buying a " Maradonna for 5 games a season ".

Every penny will count this season. We're fairly lean now, with little debt. Not a time for risks.....
