Finch reacted to Tyler Durden in Relegation watch
No, I've already made the same point a number of times previously, to be behind a team who started the season with 6 points fewer than us is absolutely scandalous and the blame needs to lie squarely with Morris for not bulleting Cocu earlier but also handing him a totally imbalanced and inadequate squad of players which he then contrived to mismanage.
You can slice it anyway you like but we should never be in this position, I don't blame Cocu anymore as he was allowed to drag the team down to the position we are still struggling to recover from.

Lol. You need to convince people that all the little bitty bits you throw out are huge reasons why it wasn't down (for various specifics) to Cocu!

I think both cocu and Mel are to blame for this season. This has been in the making for a few years now and it's caught up with us. That is Mel's responsibility. The team we started the season with was poor by our standards but it's still good enough on paper to have us mid table. That is cocus responsibility.

Lol. Well he was the manager. Who else gets players into the squad? Seriously silly.

Bogle and Lowe said similar to Curtis Davies once they'd signed for the Blades, Makes you wonder if others who are still here had the same thoughts.

The following squad was down to Cocu. We've just seen Rooney get 5 players in with almost no outlay I imagine. If you think Cocu couldn't say who he did and didn't want on his management team then how has Rooney managed? Don't you think, as Curtis Davies has mentioned, that Cocu's coaching being over-complicated and training somewhat dull, didn't help either?!
Cocu had us heading to Laegue 1. That will take some turning around.

We lost to Rotherham because for the last decade we've been recruiting players to play expansive football. We have for many years been vulnerable to a high press. Rotherham played the perfect game to counter our strengths and exploit our weaknesses.
At this point it is not a big deal. The real problem will come if every team follows Rotherham's blueprint.
We are fighting relegation because Cocu was a very poor choice of manager and it's taking Rooney (as it would anyone) a while to recover our league position.

I think if we had started the season without Rooney as a player and Bielik fit and CKR. We would be absolutely fine with Cocu.
Sure we were poor in games, but equally we dropped points in very tight games.

Rotherham - on a great run hard to beat will pick up points from those you don’t expect them too
Birmingham - struggling but have 3 strikers Hogan Juke Crosgrove if one of them turns it on then they could drag them out the mess
Coventry - starting to fall a bit. had a better first half of the season than I thought still think they might get dragged in
Forest- Murray showing on his Debut that’ll he’ll score goals to keep them out of trouble
Wednesday - had picked up recently poor result yesterday they still have a decent squad they’ve got enough to keep them away from the drop depends on how the off the field stuff effects them
Wycombe - surely they are down
Derby - should have a squad good enough but don’t beat teams around us, don’t score enough goals, we need to start picking up points and scoring goals and we will be ok!
Luton - great first half to the season, hard to beat at home
Cardiff and QPR- can’t see either being dragged in
Barnsley - an actual decent side think the past record has made everyone think it’ll be an easy 3 points can play it nasty but also play it on the floor!
apart from Wycombe I really can’t pick another 2 I think will join them

The point being made is that we are still recovering from the abysmal start endured under Cocu which is still valid and pertinent. Given the results and performances Cocu orchestrated it could be one reasonable assertion to assume that he was trying to get us relegated.
Without checking other posters facts it's been progressed on here a couple of weeks ago that if the season had started when Rooney was introduced as manager then we would be 6th in the table which hopefully answers your second point.

His return as the saviour was eagerly anticipated along with waghorn earlier this season.....remember having to play games with a front 3 of Rooney joswiak and one of holmes/knight/whoever on the other wing?
No upturn ensued and I see no reason why any is more likely this time.
Sorry, but this is nonsense. Of course he didn’t "try" to put us at the bottom of the table. He had rubbish luck with injuries/unavailability and it's fair to criticise his style and methods as being unsuitable and unsuccessful. But no need for wild unfounded accusations.
Remind me how the post Cocu games before Bielik was up to fitness went, and how the one game since his latest injury? Think he was vital for Wayne's system. Now we have to adapt the system slightly-which might mean more games slip away and results worsen. Perhaps Wayne is also trying to take us down?

Finch reacted to Tyler Durden in Relegation watch
Because Cocu did his damnedest to try and get us relegated to League 1 before he was removed
Because we can't create chances for toffee and we're only out of the bottom 3 now by a whisker due to us being able to keep a handful of clean sheets on the back of us scoring a solitary goal - we are the lowest scorers in the entire division fact.

Im sure this will go to the wire for us
Were not scoring enough goals
Bielik was more important to the team than Rooney Im hoping we just have enough
We have only scored more than 1 goal in 2 games this season, just have a chew on that

Do we think that given the resurgence of the teams around us that the players might decide endless triangle passes around our own 18 yard box aren't getting us out of the relegation scrap?
-
Finch reacted to Topram in Relegation watch
If we don’t score more goals than we have been doing we will be down, I don’t think we will go down but we other teams around us are scoring and our record this year is absolutely embarrassing

2nd from bottom. This is going to the wire. If we don’t start scoring goals soon there’s only one outcome.

Bournemouth just equalised. Entire season is now saved.

Bird just can't play that role like Bielik can. He passed backwards too much and is not strong enough off the ball to protect the back 4. People forget that when Bird played in that position last season, he had Rooney to the side of him. Get the lad from Everton to play there or change the formation.

Finch reacted to Gaspode in Keogh
I'm absolutely no fan of Keogh but to fair to him, he could hardly apologise while there was a legal case ongoing - and if the compensation hasn't been agreed, then that still applies. Perhaps he'll make a statement when everthing is finalised (if his wife will let him)

He was 6 wins worse than Billy...and one of those was at Wembley.
so, almost a third more wins would have been required by fatty to match up with the king.

Much more enjoyable season though despite the final ending
