RamuelLJackson reacted to Andicis in The Administration Thread
You said you couldn't understand posters moaning about Ashley wanting the best price. You absolutely can, it's entirely reasonable for Derby fans to be absolutely fed up of almost all of the prospective Derby owners as well as the previous one, frankly.

That doesn't mean you then go to the opposite extreme of having someone who doesn't seem to care and spends as little as possible.

Of course but if it's a bidding war, like buying a house, you go with a bid that ensures yours is the winning bid.
Moreover, by delaying, it's lessened the club's potential for recovering quickly.

Because whilst that is understandable, if he chose to pay a bit more this could probably have been settled months ago. So yes, it's sensible from a business standpoint, but as a Derby fan why would anyone be high on a potential owner that chose to let the club struggle to save a fraction of his wealth.

sadly unworkable for mass gatherings. You'd struggle to make the volume of fresh food required, to not leave customers going hungry or risk waste

This isn’t my tweet, but just wanted to acknowledge its sentiment. I think sometimes the online world and forum’s like this can live in a vacuum somewhat and those who trade in the online world (a la Nixon, Percy, Talksport) end up being king or atleast shape the discussion. This is why we have such a scramble for being the first one to release info and everyone getting over excited.
But behind that, Radio Derby have done a very good job. We’ve not always agreed with them, and they’ve not done everything right imo, but they’ve probably been the most consistent for news and what’s going on. What we thought in September is very different to what we know now and they’ve had to learn and inform as they went along with everyone else. Ed has always been ahead of the news throughout and worked tirelessly to do so. Chris Coles is very highly thought of anyway and has kept the debate sensible. Those Rams Daily podcasts/sportscene has been largely excellent at keeping the fanbase informed. Also the recent reintroduction of Colin Gibson as an experienced media pro has been welcome and a positive move.
Maguire has always been willing to talk, and whilst he’s splits many of us, I do think he’s been doing it to help football fans understand what’s going on. I have to admit my opinion of him has done a complete 180.
So yeah, I just think they deserve a bit of appreciation for the work they’ve put in so far, from somewhere they wouldn’t expect it from.

Well yes. He’s not my preference but do we really have a choice? If not then get him in asap.

We need to get behind this guy, we have been waiting for a PB for months, he may not be the 1st choice for all of us, however, if he saves our beloved DCFC we should all give him our support.
Who knows what else will happen in the next few weeks, but this is the first bit of confirmed positive news we have had in months so let's stick together as we have done all season.

Having lived in the US for 20 years I noticed that American kids act a lot younger than their UK counter parts. You see 18/19 year olds behaving like they're 13, and 30 year olds acting like 18/19 year olds. My daughter went to high school in the states and was more, adult is the only word I can use, than anyone in her class and even some of the seniors who were 2 years older than her.

You're probably right on that, but hopefully it's something that can be filed away as stupid young man behaviour he has learned from and doesn't reflect his genuinely held views.

Given his age at the time, I suspect it's more likely to be frat-boy nonsense. Obviously no excuses etc.
-
RamuelLJackson reacted to RadioactiveWaste in The Administration Thread
The tweets thing makes me just think "brattish business bro" which might not be someone I'd choose to drink with, but doesn't necessarily make them incapable of running the club, or, growing up a bit.
I share the kind of gut feeling. We'll have to wait and see.

And what if his answer to that is: "As much as the Club can afford." Would that make him a bad owner?

Well it makes sense not to burn any bridges with anyone that you may potentially need to step in, so if MA is still monitoring the situation and is openly interested then as a backup plan that has to be a positive thing right ?

RamuelLJackson reacted to TheresOnlyWanChope in The Administration Thread
I think the point is I would and most fans would gladly chomp down a Kentucky Jumbo Corn Dog or Supersize New York whopper Burger at half time if it means we have DCFC to support.
Yeh we should hear from Kirchener soon and fingers crossed a deal gets done!

RamuelLJackson reacted to Hans Datdo-Dishes in The Administration Thread
If he did that, I think he would speak very highly of the Rams

I think our quest for a moral and ethical pioneer of impeccable ethics, business sense, wealth and long term vision has to be tempered by the fact that as a business with debts higher than value and liquidation a very real possibility, we might have to settle for whoever stumps up the money.
I don't expect rich people to necessarily be nice people. Even if they've a polished and nice exterior.
If cK saves the club, that's great. I don't have to like him on a personal level or agree with his twitter pooposting to still be happy for DCFC.
The concerns I have are the same I had before, he's young, not exactly sure how he made his wealth or how wealthy he really is,what are his intentions. These are more just unknowns than evidence he'd be bad.

If they haven’t “tried their luck with the Efl” this means that Nixon hasn’t heard anything from Efl, his main source of info. Which means he knows nothing. No change there.

Absolutely, many do.
I read your last post as suggesting solicitors give advice on property values, hence my response to it

Not really his fault though is it? He joined a club falling apart, in a different country, the manager who signed him was fired soon after and all this during a pandemic. He was never set up for success.
