It’s a position where we clearly need to recruit and Oduroh looked promising, albeit judged on 45 mins. Definitely a very credible option though.

Using expressions like "an accident black spot" or a "black day for X" is problematic because it's using "black" to mean "bad", so most people these days will find a different way to express this, quite rightly.

Saying a black person is black isn't problematic. It may have been unnecessary on this occasion and so better left out, but it's not racist to include skin tone as an identifier where it makes things clear. On the contrary, dancing around trying to avoid saying a black person is black can honestly be more problematic - you're acting like you think black = bad. It's not.

Anyway that said, Kwaku Oduroh played really well and I'd like to see him play lots of minutes this preseason

I asked you a polite question - if you consider that to be bullying then you’re obviously far too precious to be on here.
How about I make a suggestion? - rather than the vast majority of people in these forums having to put you on ignore, perhaps you could consider whether your behaviour is being deliberately provocative with the sole aim of winding people up? If you come to the conclusion that it is, then maybe take a little break? People’s mental health is genuinely being tested with the ongoing uncertainty, and while no-one expects everyone to be happy clappers, the constant stream of negativity from you and certain other vocal posters isn’t helping people cope and may well be doing genuine damage…We’re all more than aware of your views so there really is no need to keep on repeating yourself…

    Exactly @LeedsCityRam and @Brailsford Ram.
We support Derby County Football Club and we expect our owner to be loyal, honest and at the very least be reasonable, unfortunately the folk at Radio Derby had to force a pushed apology, out of the guy, after he had just put us into Administration, after fans had backed him for far too long, because we didn't want to accept that he was just a businessman making it up on the hoof and potentially gambling our beloved Derby County away to the dogs.
    Sing up.

I only hope that this thread now disappears in to history (while recognising I'm hoofing it up), absolutely no disrespect to the Rams who have been discussing the various financial intricacies of our past year or so but I hope never to hear another thing about amortisation, IFRS, stadium valuations etc etc in regard to our club, I'll be a happy bunny. 20+ years of working with accountants and most of my oldest  friends are in that profession, football was my distraction!

This reads like Morris was a victim of circumstance & acted like a 'reasonable person' thereafter. I would argue that is a very generous interpretation.
Reality is Morris knew towards the end ot 2017/18 that we'd overspent as a club. He publicly told Rowett we would be reining it in & relying more on Academy graduates and that was part of Rowett's rationale for jumping ship to Stoke.
Had Morris kept to this strategy, we'd have been fine. What he then did though was to bet the house on one last attempt at promotion...got blinded by a celebrity appointment (Lampard) & spent money every bit as frivolous as his first 2 years. It was this season that provoked the ire of Gibson & interest of onlookers who couldn't reconcile his earlier statements with the approach thereafter.
Once we lost to Villa & he decided to sell having lost his gamble, he had a responsibility to manage the club prudently. Instead he doubled down with our biggest ever signing (Bielik) & a massive PR stunt (Rooney). Gibson served notice of intent to sue us May 2019 but Morris did not deal with this until 3 months ago (and even then there are suggestions he's just lumped it onto the price of PP). He said he would fund us until we were sold but cut his losses by dumping us into administration & left us to the mercy of rival clubs & a vengeful EFL.
He also had a bid last summer from the Binnies (reported in the Athletic) which seemingly he rejected in favour of administration & a certain relegation. That sound like someone who had no option but to do what he did?
To your point about fans supporting us at Wembley and then turning on Morris, how would you expect the average fan to know the situation at the club when Morris was so secretive about the real picture & his true intentions?

It was compliant you have the option under FRS102 to do straight line, in stepped increments or depreciate annually after a evaluation.  The later being how the Stadium was increased in value on the books.....
Essentially its up to the business to present accounts in a true honest and fair reflection of thier assets.
How many players get sold before the end of there contracts meaning they retain some residual value?  Meaning that the straightline method is not necessarily the best method.
Its accepted that it was common practice though throught the EFL to submit accounts in this manner.  Mel spotted a legal loop hole to exploit (As have many clubs to beat FFP regs), he got ducked over fir it, when they should of just closed the loop hole....
Legally we did nothing wrong, we just didn't follow the same working practices is others, it doesn't make it illegal though

I've been hearing quite a lot that "This Kirchner bloke obviously hasn't got the money if he can't afford the stadium".
Well, hmm. We certainly don't know about his finances.
But...what exactly are we talking about here? CK owning the stadium himself? Have we not learned that this is a huge conflict of interest?
If we mean "why hasn't he bought us a stadium and gifted it to the club?", I'd have thought thats pretty obvious. Do we need to own a stadium when we've got sky-high debts as it is and we've got a long road ahead to rebuild our financial situation?
The bottom line is that we have someone willing to take on the debts, willing to pay to get contracts in front of players, and can source us somewhere to play. CK provides all 3, in his own roundabout way. That's all that matters.

It’s not quite right. If I owed B4 £1000 but I said stick it up your chuffer. Then you came along and said look B4 I think he’s ripped you off here is some of what he owes you. B4 would be chuffed to bits with you.

B4, please read this carefully as it’s been said a few times and you look very silly ignoring it!

it does not matter how much money we want to spend or how rich the owners might be, as part of the deal we will be limited by rules on how much we can spend on players and wages!

There are businesses only being paid 35p (over 3 years) for every £1 Derby owe them.

To put this into context, pretend I owe you £1000. Now imagine I’m only going to pay you £120 this year, £120 next year and £110 in two years, you won’t be getting the remaining £650 I owe you because I say that I can’t afford it. Now imagine that at the same time as paying you only £120, you find out I’ve spent £2000 on buying the same thing you sold me but from someone else. You’d be upset right??
well, to prevent this happening, EFL force clubs coming out of administration to sign up to a business plan limiting spending and budgets. If the club doesn’t stick to it, point deductions and embargos happen.

So please please stop saying Derby will spend decent money. We wont. It’s not allowed.
