It's a stupid chant though. 

Nope, not having that. It's a stupid chant used because it really winds him up. It's not new either, they've sung it at him for ages in numerous games so SU fans are poo stirring, as if Derby don't have enough on our plates right now. 

Well that's positive, hope it's genuine. It wouldn't surprise me the amount of rubbish coming from the media (local papers don't help as well, thought they actually supported Derby). I wonder if that the fact we have Rooney as our manager is causing all these rumours, don't get me wrong I am more than happy with Rooney but it makes you think would the papers and media in general be spilling so much bile if say Liam Rosenior was the manager?

Scaremongering =  Clicks
Rooney + Scaremongering = ££££££££££££

Hi Mr Parry,
 
I am sure you have received plenty of emails from worried/angry/upset Derby fans.
 
I would like to think as a founding member of the football league the EFL would be doing as much as they can to stop us going into liquidation.
 
There have been many articles & statements, resulting in a lot of anger, confusion & contradictions.
 
Can you confirm the following -
 
1. Has the club been given a deadine of 1st Feb to prove funds? And will be removed from the league if not provided?
 
2. Have Middlesbrough & Wycombe both officially made claims against us or are they still only threats that they will? Do you know the value of the claims?
 
3. Can a preferred bidder be named & we exit administration with the Middlesbrough & Wycombe claims still ongoing? Providing the new owner is happy to take these claims on.
 
Any clarity for us Derby fans would be greatly appreciated.

I’d be surprised if he thought it was actually at him, as it’s a common chant going round now - for instance, he’ll have heard the Sheffield United fans singing it about Barry Bannan (at Hull, I think) the week before DCFC played at Bramall Lane.

It is unfortunate that so much misleading briefing is going on. It is helping no-one.
We have no agenda against Derby County and there is no vendetta.
We want the club to survive.
We do know how important it is to supporters but it is also important to the EFL.
We do have to apply our insolvency policy consistently for obvious reasons but no other club has failed to come out of administration.

The chairman of the EFL is emailing you at half 7 on a Saturday night himself, when you sent your original email to what looks like every iteration of rparry@EFL you could think of?
the chairman of the EFL who I highly suspect would have an assistant of some kind who would manage his emails, has replied, personally, on a Saturday night, to a random Derby County fan.

Perhaps he worried he might not get a better deal from us at the end of the season? Thommo has his spot now don't you think?

Can see why the EFL are desperate. This team would survive if they simply left us to it.

For the first time this season I feel really flat before a game. I can only imagine the players feel similar so IF we put in a performance today, win or lose then Rooney really must have a huge influence on the dressing room. And that influence will be invaluable going forward.

Yes his win ratio is poor but that doesn’t mean he’s been poor. 
 
What more could you ask of him, given  the circumstances we’ve all debated on here for the previous 12 months? 
 
What’s difficult to understand about that? Give the guy a break!
