Very rarely comment but couldn't resist after reading some of the moving posts by others on here. Have spent all morning greedily devouring every post since the announcement yesterday, I just can't get enough.
It's been an absolutely torrid couple of years, but the way this darkness has galvanised everybody who cares about the club has been incredible to behold. It's brought together the city in an age where the country is divided, it's shown the pride that exists and how important it is to the identity of the people of Derby. The march before the Birmingham game is something I'll never forget and will always be proud to have been a part of. The Bielek bicycle kick made me lose my mind in delirious happiness and joy in a way that no bottom of the table, 2nd division, mid season game has a right to do.
Extremely early days but I can't believe how lucky we seem to have gotten with David Clowes. No fuss, no drama, just got on with buying the stadium before anybody knew they were even involved. Keen to shun the limelight, a breath of fresh air after the previous owner.
High hopes for the future. Long live Derby County Football Club. Up the Rams.

Agree with Ed re the tyre-kicker, I think we dodged a bullet there.
Really hope Bury bounce back. Would love to play them at some point down the line too.

I think it’ll be out our hands when the points come into place. Surely there will be a procedure that states a cut off etc?
either way, if the solution is a points deduction I’m 100% certain it will b better to take it now.
even if we ‘would’ have stayed up because we get these 6 points back… surely starting with a clean slate in league 1 is better than -15 in the championship and having this mentally draining ‘fight till the end’ season AGAIN.
Take the points, take heart from how close we ran it and use that to start a new winning mentality and build a squad with Rooneys vision for going up back to back!

No one will pay the money to avoid the deduction, so it's this season or next - if we are to survive at all.
But I remember the fun in the third tier last time. You'll enjoy going to grounds you've not been to before.
With Kirchner as owner, I think Rooney will stay as manager, we'll be able to keep many of the players, get others.
Just think: a clean slate, we'll be competing at the top of the league instead of fighting for survival.
The impetus will see us storm the championship the following season, successive promotions.

Our relegation isn’t one based on results.
It isn’t one based on a sporting competition on a field of sport.
It’s not because our team or players or coaches are not as good as the other teams in the same league

it’s a punishment inflicted by the EFL, caused by Morris and provoked by Gibson.
we have shown them all up for their incompetence, vindictiveness and money grabbing ways

I’m not sure that’s true, most people in Derby/Derbyshire will realise the benefit to the county in keeping the football club going, and securing the stadium so it can’t be used like this again.
It would be more benefit than building a velodrome, how much did that cost?

Every game this season has been massive. Mentally and emotionally that must put a massive strain on the team. It does feel that the weight of it all might just have become a little too much based on tonight. And that's okay.

We just wanted an update from them.
What they said in their statement to the DET is fine. It was just a long time coming and appears to have been prompted by their meeting with Team Derby.
Just an occasional (weekly?) update from them would take less than 5 minutes and would help. I am sure they can handle the rest of the process perfectly well but their communication is somewhat lacking.

Spot on. Reaction to Lawrence's red has been hysterical, understandable but completely OTT given that he's far from the only one who's been sent off this season. Yes it's costly, but only because he's been our most important player this season and without his contributions we'd have been done a long time ago.

I am delighted that I'm not the only Derby fan that still holds a grudge against Atwell for that diabolical display, even though it must be over 10 years ago now.
Saw him reffing the league cup final this weekend and it brought it all back.

Yeah, too many soft free kicks given these days. I'd've expected Curtis to be stronger. Likewise, it wasn't really a foul on Ebosele at the start of the move. (Despite what Rooney is saying in the interview on Sky).
There was also the mistake, saving the throw in but giving them the ball.
We're just blaming the ref when it's our own fault. Not just the defending, we're just not creating chances.
I'm not knocking Rooney or the squad. They've been magnificent. But the squad is paper thin, they look exhausted and there just isn't the creativity there without Lawrence, Jozwiak or the players we could've bought without the embargo.

Don’t think Lawrence should be singled out. Team effort. Team have lost three in a row. Maybe he would have made a difference (probably) but things happen. We aren’t good enough in final third. Lawrence isn’t to blame.
